Thanks! I had heard that they have a different menu entirely for vegetarians since it is so heavily meat. However, I could be wrong.

Even if not, no big deal. Turns out we are there for a late lunch. I can just get them to make me a meatless Monte Cristo! Yum.

I just read a review on mouseplanet.com that said BB is not vegetarian friendly. They reported one vegetarian option, however, the starter salad had meat as did the spinach (bacon).

my daughter is a vegetarian and so we have never had that great of luck at the BB but over at CO they do a triple cheese Monte Cristo and just an FYI ...at the hungry bear restaurant they do serve veggie burgers :goodvibes

Here's the problem - I got it straight from the chef.

The mushroom is grilled on the same grill as meat, and is not cleaned. You need to ASK for a non cross contaminated mushroom.

Then the dish is placed in the oven along with pork chops. They almost can't avoid cross contamination as they only have one oven.

You may get lucky if you call ahead and ask for a special meal, but will need to ensure that you reconfirm that they DO NOT cross contaminate your meal by such lax cooking practices.

I can also confirm that they have once again pulled the veggie burgers at DCA, and the usual places I dine were closed on a recent weekend.

Cafe Orleans was sympathetic, but also at a little bit of a loss to provide a veggie meal which was not drowning in dairy.

Once again it was meals at DTD for me.

Bavaria...they didnt pull them from DL did they? gosh dont eve tell me they did.. :headache:my daughter is going to be crabbier than she normally is if they do

The veggie burgers that I fought for for years are still at Hungry Bear and Tomorrowland, plus Foaring Forks in GC.

I've been struggling all week healthwise since I got back.... :guilty:

Oh dear! That makes it tough when there's a group reservation and one poor starving vegetarian. Just one more way WDW is more user friendly than DL.

I noticed a "split plate charge" for $4.99. Are the portions large enough to split with another person?

Fortunately, I'm not a Vegan, so I'll be fine. Surely they will make a cheese Monte Cristo for me. If not, I'll go children's menu. It's all good! I'll be at Disneyland.

I think I read that with the split plate charge, only the main entree is split. Each person gets their own veggies and salad. Maybe someone will come along a verify it.

Correct. Split plate both parties get everything except the main course which is split. The portions are large enough to split for 'most' people I would think. We wished we would have split our meal because we wasted alot of (very expensive LOL) food.
