Hello. I was trying to make a dinner reservation at Blue Bayou for a party of 7 on 1/13 (my 50th). Unfortunately, w/ a party that size, I was only able to grab a lunch reservation 12:30. However, I was able to grab a reservation for a party of 6 at 5:20. What are the chances we can update that 2nd reservation to add 1 more person? Would we have to wait until day of (and take the risk of not having it at all and paying the cancellation fee) or is there some one we could contact prior to that to see if we could add the extra person?

Thank You. Any insight is deeply appreciated as we are trying to make that a special night for the whole family.

I'm not sure, but I know what many people do is make 2 reservations for the same time, like a party of 5 and a party of 2 at 5:20. Will you be at the resort the day before? If so, you could go by the check-in kiosk and explain your situation. If they say no problem about adding a 7th, then you can cancel the first one. If they say they can't do that, you can cancel the 2nd. I think the odds are pretty good that it will work out for you! I hope so.

You might try an online chat with Disney about it through the app or website.

I think the problem with going from 6 to 7 (or even 4 to 5) is that it changes the table needed. Instead of 1 at each head and 2 on each side for 6 people, they have to add another table. As another poster noted, I'd had over the day before if possible and ask directly.

Make two seperate reservations at same time for your party total with first being as large as you can then walk up in the morning once they open asking if they can combine and seat together.

5 to 6 would likely not be an issue as you would most likely be at a 6 top anyway but adding another to a 2, 4, or 6 top table could be a no go.

I would say your chances are pretty good. They may make you wait a bit longer, but I think you would be fine getting in. You wouldn't have a cancellation fee.

We had booked a party of 4 when Blue Bayou first reopened after COVID but ended up having 5 people. They were hesitant at first, mostly because of COVID regulations at the time, but we were seated as a party of 5.

I tried this but the app would not let me make the 2nd.

I did this a year ago with no issues. I booked two parties of 4 for my group of 9 because no matter how early I tried to book for our large group it didn't let me book more than 4 the whole week we went. Each day I would go let them know we had an actual party of 9 and if we could all sit together. I went in with the expectation they could say no and we'd have to sit separate and they were always very accommodating. The key is to go early I think and let them know.

If BB offers mobile check in , mobile check in ALWAYS allows you to add one extra person ! Keep that in mind as well :)
