Blue Bayou No Res, Now what?

Hello all,

We are off to Disneyland next week. I was unable to book a dining reservation at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland.

Does anyone have any tips for how I might still be able to dine there such as the best time to show up for a "walk in" table? Best day of week, Best time? All tips appreciated!!

FYI: We are a party of 6 that includes 3 kids.

Best bet is to show up at 11:10-11:15 for lunch and check in at the counter for the 11:30 lunch. Request a waterside table as that is usually considered the most magical.

I have no idea about days of the week but would think weekdays would be better than weekends.

Wow. I'm surprised you weren't able to get ANY reservation. I've gone during really busy times and never had a problem. Did you try through the website or did you actually call? Call first and speak to someone. If not, then they do open right at 11:30 if you wanted to try early. Or else go in an off time, like 4:00 PM, etc.

I don't know that they're completely booked opposed to the website is having some issues. I just took a quick look and put in some random dates next week for a party of 4 and late-afternoon (e.g., 3:00(ish)) came up. So I think there are two things going on:
1) The Fantasmic! Dining Packages just started and I think those are impacting the availability of dinner reservations at Blue Bayou.
2) The website might have a glitch in it because I couldn't select a target time to look.

I would try calling Disneyland Dining to see if they're having any better luck with their system.

I think you're best bet is to head to the Blue Bayou and inquire about any reservations that might be available for later in that day. I haven't really heard anyone having any luck with a walk-up at opening, but it's always worth a shot if you really want to eat there.

I would walk up as soon as they open and ask if they have any available reservations for that day, or any of the days you are there. I would also call before your trip and see if anything is available. Maybe someone cancelled...you never know. Good luck!

I think Blue Bayou walkups may be a thing of the past thanks to the dining packages for Fantasmic!

I called and was able to receive a 9pm reservation for the Saturday night. I am still going to try the "walk up" idea when they first open.

The website showed no availability but by calling I was at least able to get a slot. Thanks for the tips everyone.

I have the answer... I need to cancel a reservation for 6 on Monday, 6/15 at 6:50. It is for the 2nd Fantasmic show. Call me and I will cancel when you are ready to book it.

I would also recommend that you keep checking, even the day of.
