Had lunch at BB today and was not expecting much after many of the meh reviews of late, but was pleasantly surprised the filet was back on the menu… and it was great! My brother in law who has an odd food intolerance was able to order the pasta with added chicken, and there wasn’t a drop left on the plate!

I took some pics of the menu if it’s helpful for those planning trips soon. They didn’t have the Fantasmic menu out as it wasn’t playing tonight.

Hoping this positive change is here to stay!

Yay!! That is pretty much what the menu was when I was there Jan 24. I had the fish and it was scrumptious! It was pan fried, which I love. I'd never heard of that fish but it was mild, firm, and excellent. The fried rice was good, even though I didn't think I'd like it (not a fan of garlic and spinach). It was mild on the garlic and was basically a rice dish with the charred pineapple sauce. The rice didn't seem fried at all (which was too bad), but it was good.

I was tempted to order the filet but I didn't. It's usually my favorite and I hope this means that it's also back at Club 33.

My grandson got the kids steak meal and it was surprisingly great! He loved it. It was tender and tasty, not fatty.

Daughter got the Mushroom Ragu thing. She said it was good but I don't think she was that wowed by it. I don't think there were many vegetarian options.

We ordered the creme brulee and the Basque cheesecake with berries. OMG, that Basque cheesecake was amazing!! It's hard to explain it, but it's less smooth and puddingish and more solid in a way. It was fantastic.

So, so happy that things are beginning to show definite improvements! It would be a shame to let the fine dining restaurants continue into the downward spiral we've been seeing. I'm hearing positive experiences lately.

Thank you for sharing yours!!

do you think it would be possible to replace the salad on the monte Cristo with something else, like mashed potatoes or something?

I wouldn't recommend it. The sandwich is so rich you need something like a salad to provide balance. You don't want to ruin the rest of your day in the park.

They were quite accommodating for substitutions for my brother in law. As long as it is non the menu I don’t see why not. Those Gruyère mashed potatoes are pretty dang good!

The menu looks great! Does anyone know if they'll make the cheese only Monte Cristo, or is Cafe Orleans the only place to do that? Also...I'm sure it's been asked before I forget— Will they let teens or adults order off the kids menu?

I think free bread is a thing of the past. We end up paying for bread at most restaurants now days.

We would gladly pay for it. ;) My son was obsessed with that Blue Bayou bread, he won't eat there anymore because it's gone- too funny.

We got free bread at the Grand Floridian Cafe in WDW this past Christmas that was nearly identical, might just be a Disneyland cut. I can't remember if Blue Bayou was the only place that had it or not? I remember during covid someone on here mentioned that it had to do with the bakers having their positions cut?

Not sure about the cheese only, doubt it as it’s a different sandwich altogether, but they will let adults or teens order an adult sized portion of a kids menu item (so not the kids price.) but if you have a picky eater that will only eat spaghetti it is handy.

Oh I miss the bread, seriously I think they do themselves a disservice by not having the ‘free’ bread. It makes people feel that they are getting something extra so they end up feeling happier about the overall price they are paying. First they took away the ‘free’ gumbo, now the bread. Disney you are money pinching and people will get sick of it.

We had the filet last month too and it was SO GOOD. Honestly everything that night was perfect; our waiter was great, food was hot and well prepared, the petite sundae was adorable, just a great night. I can't wait to go back now whereas before it almost felt like checking a box of nostalgia...

Yes, exactly what I was trying to convey!

And for the mourners of bread I am not one - I always fill up on bread and can’t finish my meal. But those new corn fritters I might have to take for a spin next time. Cause now there will be a next time that’s not just to check a box!

The real question... is the bread ever coming back!?
We asked our server once and she said the kitchen was just too small and there really wasn't room for the bread station. Once COVID hit it provided them the opportunity to just scrub the whole thing.

I hate COVID.

Glad to see the menu change. Looks good.

I miss the bread, too. It's such an easy and simple thing to serve, I'm not sure why they don't bring it back. Plus it's nice to have something to eat if your order takes a long time to arrive.

Funny thing about the fritters... the waiter said they would take up to 30 minutes because they were just getting started with a fresh batch. We said that was fine and they materialized maybe 10 minutes later? They arrived about the same time as the gumbo. I always appreciate under promising and over delivering.

People are talking about the Monte Cristo, but it's not on the menu. Is this a hidden item or something?
