The title pretty much says it all. If not, is there any way to help your chances of getting a seat with that view?

The whole room overlooks the bayou, but it's like a restaurant with a view; if you're not right next to the water, you'll mostly catch it between people's heads.

You can certainly request waterside. There's a couple of ways to do that: if you are going for lunch, make a reservation for the earliest seating at 11:30. Show up by 11:10 or 15 at the podium to check in, and at that time, request waterside seating. Most of the time you can get right in. If you are going later, you can still request waterside when you check in, but you'll probably have to wait. It can be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Generally I've found that they tell me 45 but they really call me in 25-30 minutes. You can hang around there, or they'll give you a buzzer and you can wander around the alley-- but not too far.

Hope that helps! I love BB and waterside. My kids won't stop waving at the boats. :)

Just be aware that once we asked to wait for a waterside table - we were
granted it but were seated right behind/next to one of the semi large plant stands that blocked a significant portion of the view:( Being in the second row of tables would have been better in that instance.

Yes and no...as others have said, the entire room overlooks the bayou portion of the attraction, but the further away from the water you are, the harder it is to see anything. I would say the first two rows of tables have a pretty good or okay view (depending on the table) and anything further away is likely to be obstructed by other diners. If you're seated near the entrance to the restaurant, at lunch time the light from outside pretty much ruins the atmosphere (it's pretty bright) and you really can't see any of the bayou. So, in that way, I do think there are some tables that do not have a view of the attraction or have a very limited view of the attraction.

Depending upon the size of your party, and possibly even then, simply say that you were really hoping for a waterside table, if possible and that you don't mind waiting a bit longer. And that you would really appreciate it. I had done that one time, and it was no problem at all. I only had to wait about 10 minutes or so. :)
Might be surprised at how far a pleasant smile and appreciative and understanding language and tone may take one.

I absolutely agree! I think they were indeed filling my request when they seated me at that (obscured view) table. Not having sat there themselves, they just didn't realize how obscured the view is for shorties.:)
Yes- we were pleasant with our request.

We went early and requested waterside. They said it would be an additional 30 minutes and it was only 5. Honestly I felt like they were trying to discourage us because when we went in (4:30 res) it was empty and there were 4 other waterside tables empty.
