Blue Bayou Dinner - What Time is Best?

I'm wondering if anyone could give me an idea what time would be best to make dinner reservations for Blue Bayou. We would love to get a waterside table, but don't really want to wait an hour or more in order to get it. There are lots of threads on what time is best to reserve a table for lunch, but I could not find a consensus for dinner.

If it helps, I will be trying to get a reservation on a Thursday evening, during off season (Feb, week prior to President's Day). We are not too picky about when we eat. We are just the two of us for dinner. Is early dinner (4-4:30pm) less busy than a later dinner around 6:30-7pm? Would I have a better chance at not waiting forever for a waterside table at one of these times than the other?

I know that reviews for BB are mixed, but the consensus is that everyone should try it at least once and since it's our first trip to DL, I think we should at least check it out. We are not extremely picky - we like good home cooked food as long as it's warm, cooked right, and not too pretentious :goodvibes

Normally I'd suggest going for 4pm. It reopens for dinner reservations and you ask for water and it takes about 15 minutes longer to sit. They stagger as they let people in and place them in the restaraunt.

Since you are going on a very slow day it probably won't metter when your reservation is for, there won't be as much demand on the tables.

I'm not sure what time they will stop seating but you may want to inquire about this. If it takes about an hour to eat, which is a fair estimate, if you sit at 7 the park is closed when you leave. So you use a whole hour or park time. Maybe you could get a 7:30 or later reservation. The park closes at 8, so you would miss less park time.

I thought they open at 1630 for dinner, best shot for waterside. Show 15 minutes earlyand request..love the lobster

That is the opening time I knew, but Disney currently has published 1600, so I'm not sure, maybe it changed.

I dont know if there ever is a time to go that best lOL!
Ive always amde reservations, and always had to wait.
We have waited for a water front table too... not much longer than our normal wait.
We usually go about 5:30.

Thank you everyone. I think I will give dining a call and see what time the "first" dinner seating is on that day and go for it. Normally we eat dinner a little later especially when traveling but we're not that fussy. We'll just have a big breakfast and a smaller snack for lunch and save room for the BB dinner.

Appreciate the advice.

I think the Blue Bayou starts serving dinner at 4:00pm.

Yesterday I made a BB dinner reservation.

I asked for the earliest dinner time available, and they gave me 4:00pm.

HTH :earsboy:
