Blue Bayou atmosphere

Lol, come to think of it , considering the atmosphere is the main reason for going there (not the so-so food), Disney should have variable menu prices adjusted for the table location . Like at stadium seats and airplanes. If you take the back, the food is discounted. Waterside is premium.

Looks like people are saying its around ten mins to wait to sit next to the water, then seems like a fair amount of time for that

The place is so dark I'm not sure how any table is different from the others. I've sat waterside, I've sat in the middle, and I've sat over to the side. It's all the Blue Bayou.

Being gawked at by Pirates riders isn't really my cup of tea. (though I fully gawk when on Pirates. it looks so much cooler to be in that restaurant than it is to be in that restaurant, IMO)

My son will never stop bringing up how much he misses the bread at Blue Bayou. In his eyes, it will never be the same until that bread returns. :rotfl2: We usually have no issue getting a waterside table with no wait but usually we're a party of two and there's quite a few of those tables by the water that are for two people.

I ate there last Friday. Usually we request waterside but this time it was a one hour wait. This was already a 2pm lunch so we opted not to. The kids were tired.

We had an almost center of the restaurant table and I found it to be just as charming. I could view the water, see the boats, look up at the lanterns, see the big “tree”, look at the shuttered windows of the mansion.

Once I was very close to the kitchen and I didn’t love that. I should’ve asked to move then.

The bread was the best. I wish they would bring the bread back!!!

How long do you have to wait though? We were tempted to do that last time but when we saw the full waiting area, we decided not to. We waited like an hour after our reservation time even without doing that.
We had a 6:50 pm reservation this past Saturday. You can check in 20 minutes prior (which we did at 6:30).

We requested a waterside table and was told it would be ~20 minutes. We waited about 15.
