We weren't going to do any kind of reserved dining on this trip but we've had a change of heart.

Am I going to get laughed at if I call and see if I can get a reservation for the week of the 21st?

Your best bet maybe to check online. But no, you won't get laughed at if you try. You may not get the time you want, but we were able to get a reservation a week out for our June trip. And a friend had no problem getting the time she wanted (yesterday) for her upcoming early August trip.

So here is a DLR secret: if you book a reservation at bb you have all day to show up for your reservation.. You just have to wait a little longer for a table.. <3 my sister is a CM <3

Is that really true with their new system (charging for no shows). We've never tried doing that, so I can't say one way or another, but it doesn't sound right to me.

You will not have a problem getting a reservation at this time. I'm still reviewing reservation times for next week, and there are plenty.

This sounds like it might be something that is at the discretion of the CM at the time of checking in. While some might allow late seating, I don't think I would count on it because if you are considered a "no show" then you will be charged the $10 per person penalty. I do know that they do not always accept guests who try to arrive early for their ADR. I've been there when they told a guest they could not check them in early.

To the OP, I would just try looking online now to see what options are available. I just tried putting in 7/21 at lunch for a party of four and plenty of options came up. The BB is one place where getting a reservation is highly recommended (over walking up), but it does not mean that reservations are very hard to come by. If you said you were going tomorrow, you might have a harder time finding an ideal reservation, but with two weeks lead time, I think you'll probably be okay.

You should be able to get them same day (I have always done this), unless it is a really busy day. You may not get the exact time you want, but I have never had any trouble.

The last three times we've eaten there, they have turned people away, saying they weren't taking any walk ups. You may be able to get a reservation that morning by calling/online, but if it's important I wouldn't chance it.

^^this^^

We made same day reservations at 7:00 AM for a 11:30 sitting on July 3rd with no problem, which is pretty good considering it is a day before a holiday.

2 weeks ago We made dinner reservations for a late dinner with less than 24hrs.

I think you should be ok :-)

Like DisneyJamieCA most of the times when I've been to Blue Bayou, they were not accepting walk-ups or taking reservations for later in the day. They were telling guests that they were fully booked for the day, but the guest was welcome to check back later in the day to see if anything has opened up. I've heard this in mid-October, early-December, and early-March of late. I usually have the 11:30 am seating, so that's when I was at Blue Bayou hearing this.

My sister is a cast member.. They charge at the end of business day. Some pieces of old Disneyland still stand.. Before Starbucks you could get free coffee refills with a shown receipt on Main Street..
