[SIZEHi all:goodvibes. I am planning a surprise birthday trip for DD who will be turning 12 in Oct 2012 and I really would like opinions on which resort would be the best for her surprise. I really want her to be able to see the castle during our stay. Thanks for your input. Mary="4"][/SIZE]

I haven't stayed at BLT, but we loved our CR MK view room. Odd numbered rooms have the beds facing looking out towards the castle. Nothing better than snuggling up in bed with the family to watch Wishes before going to sleep. The CR MK view room will also be alot more convenient to the monorail and restaurants, but BLT will give you a kitchen if you tend to eat in the room.

I'd go with CR for the convenience. The MK view from those rooms really is spectacular.

I would go with the Contemporary also because of the convenience factor. Staying there means you would be an elevator ride away from their stores, restaurants, transportation options and etc.

It depends really. If you are looking at a studio at BLT then I would go with the contemporary because I believe they are larger. I have never stayed in the BLT studios but I heard they are really tiny. I don't know if you are a DVC member but you would have to book 7 months out and since BLT sells out pretty quickly you may be limited on the MK view. I would go with the Contemporary.

I've stayed in both the the MK views from either are awesome but as the others have said, if you're not an owner at BLT you'd probably struggle to get an MK view and if you were only going for a studio then I'd go for CR as the room would be larger.

:worship:Thanks to all for the replies. It will be only the 3 of us so the studio being tiny wouldn't be a problem. It seems though that the majority of opinions is to stay in the main tower. So I think that's what we will do, thanks again:thumbsup2 Mary

love the views from BLT.

the studio at BLT has a queen bed and a sofa bed.

the room at CR has two queen beds and a day bed. (it is really a twin bed)

the problem with the studio is if you have to open the sofa bed - the room quickly becomes tiny. although the balconies are bigger than in the CR.

another problem with MK views at BLT is they did start on the 2nd floor (this might be changing) - while CR only start on the 5th and up.

so if you get a room lower than 7th at BLT - it will be more parking lot or monrail than actually MK view. (blt does not have the extra large 2nd and 4th floors that CR does)

now love BLT - but generally get a standard view.

We own at BLT, stay there often & love it. That said, for a MK view, I would do CR.

With the shape of BLT, there has been much discussion over how those rooms are classified. Last I heard, MK View at BLT could be 5th floor & up. This still offers a fair amount of parking lot view. FWIW, 5th floor at BKT is equivalent to 4th floor at CR. CR rooms start on the 6th floor which would = 7th at BLT. Other thing to consider is the facade at CR is flat whereas BLT is curved. This can alter the point of view.

You're welcome and I hope you have a great time staying there.

Definitely CR rooms. That view is amazing. Although we own at BLT, we are not impressed with those studios at all. You will be glad for the space at CR.
