Can someone please refresh me on the ins and outs of BLT? I haven't been there in years and I quite forget it! And my husband hasn't been there at all. We will be going in Jan (can't wait!). We will be staying in a lake view studio. Any tips and tricks or information would be great!

If you want a chance to see the MK fireworks, ask for North wing, outer ring (even numbered units) The bridge to the Contemporary is on floor 5 of BLT. This is your connection to dinning, shopping and the monorail. It a short walk to MK, much faster than the monorail with all it's stops. Have a great trip.

Even if your lake view doesn't have a "lean out a bit" view of the fireworks, you can go out on the bridge between BLT and Contemporary for a very nice view, or go to TOTWL (16th floor of BLT, requires you to show your DVC membership white or blue card) for another nice view of the fireworks. The last time we were there, we had no view of the fireworks, but an incredible view of the water parade and, off in the distance, WL/BRV/CCV. My wife said she preferred where we were over theme park view, as it was more interesting for her to watch the boats than Tomorrowland.

We had requested "Upper Floor" once and got on the 16th, direct access to TOWL and the Observation Deck (had to scan our MB in the elevator prior to selecting 16, nice VIP vibe!). The transportation options are outstanding, as some have said previously, with monorail, buses & boats taking you pretty much anywhere you care to go. The Contemporary has excellent dining options in The Contempo Cafe, Chef Mickey's, The Wave... of American Flavours and The California Grill. Just recently added, Bay Lake Tower now has its own DME stop for arrival and departure. Enjoy your trip and "Welcome Home!"

I totally forgot about just walking down the the MK to go to other resorts! We are planning to eat at the wave this time. We are going to skip the California Grill (it is one of our favorites, but we want to try a new signature), but we are hoping to go up there to the lounge for some drinks. We are also hoping to go up to the Top of the World one night for fireworks.

Consider doing a monorail meal, appetizer at CR, entree at the Poly, dessert at GF and after dinner drinks back at the TOTWL for the fireworks. Or whichever order you want to do it in.

Remember that you can catch a bus to pretty much anywhere else on property (other resorts) by walking over to the MK bus hub.

I love BLT!! Have a great trip!!

What a great tip!! Never dawned on me to do this:-)

I love the proximity of being so close to other resorts, via monorail or boat. Plan a breakfast, lunch or both at The Wave, boat to FW to catch a breakfast at Trails End, check out the new Geyser Pt bar and grill at WL. Be sure to go to TOTWL at BLT and see the fireworks too

I will say, being so close to MK spoiled me when it came to transportation to the other parks. Heck even going to Epcot on the monorail began to feel like it was a long trip! Haha. Also, while it is not heavily themed, we really enjoyed the Pool area. There is a very nice splash pad for the little ones and the main pool is zero entry. It is also really nice to be right on Bay Lake when you are down there. The whole area is very peaceful.

One more thing on transportation, if it hasn't already been mentioned, if you are heading to any park not served by the monorail you will need to walk over to the bus stop at CR.

Relaxing at the end of the day at the TOTWL for a nightcap is perfect. Go right after the fireworks and the crowds will be gone but the view of MK will still be there!
