We are a family of four, will be traveling with a one year old and 3 year old in the spring. I currently have a 1br at BWV booked with a travel agent. Ideally we want a monorail resort but BLT retail is thousands more than BWV. I just spoke with a member that is renting DVC points and can get me a reservation at BLT on a one bedroom. Caveat is if we rent through a member I cannot get any type of trip insurance and God forbid one of my kiddos gets sick or something we stand to lose all of the money. I'm extra nervous about this since we just went to Mexico in November and we thought our toddler just had a cold and she ended up so sick the whole time we were away, we almost came home and we swore that if it had been Disney we would have postponed because she wasn't herself and would have missed out on so much.

BLT is so much more convenient for us with the kids. We plan on spending most of our time at MK and possibly going for meals at other MK resorts so it just makes sense. The option to walk the kids in strollers to mk is almost too good to be true.

What would you do?

Others on here may know better - but I *think*you can still get trip insurance, you just have to buy it separately on your own.

Thanks. After posting this I read a bunch and emailed my travel insurance provider so hopefully I find out today. I'm assuming by your answers you all think BLT is worth it!

And back to your question about BLT v BWV, if the price differential by renting points isn't too big, then given your plans I'd definitely go for BLT - it's why we'll be there in March with a 4yo and 2 babies (family trip). Last year we were at BWV in a 1br with just our 3yo and it was great too- the boardwalk area is really nice and there are a lot of food options and, of course, walking distance to Epcot. It had a much more relaxed feel than BLT/contemporary.

There is a points rental service out there that we are not allowed to share here that offers travel insurance with DVC rental. A quick Google search will locate them.

We stayed at BLT with our 3 year old and 7 month old last Feb. It's amazing for little kids. You can walk to the MK. We were there in 15 mins every day. You can leave the park for dinner or naps and walk back. It's where you'll spend most of your time and amazing at the end of the day. The kids are exhausted and in the stroller. 10 mins of walking later you're at your room. No busses or driving and having to get them in and out of the stroller.

We were at the MK one day until about 3-4, went back to the room for dinner and were back in the park around 6 for the parade and wishes. We couldn't have done that staying elsewhere.

Highly recommend it if you have young kids!!
