I have to say I hate the name Bay Lake Towers. It sounds like a retirement home (or a 70's sitcom) :happytv:

I am *hoping* they only used the name on the paperwork to "throw" people off--as if THAT could happen!;)

Anyway, do you like it, hate it, or really not care either way?

I hate that name too. I don't see why is isn't the Contemporary Villas?? Make them the Contemporary Tower Villas or something like that. All the other resorts that are a regular and DVC resort kept the resort name. Why shouldn't they be identified by where they are??:confused3

I suspect for the same reason that AKV has Jambo House and Kidani Village. For clarity sake, they need to be able to identify all of the different "towers" (don't be surprised if a third starts to rise into the skyline once BLT is complete.)

Officially I'm sure it will be something like "Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort", and people will call it whatever makes them most comfortable.

Personally I liked Kingdom Tower better but Bay Lake Tower seems like a safer alternative for Disney. Then again, it may not be the final name either...

Kingdom Towers....I think of Jehovahs Witnesses

BLT.....I need extra bacon with that.....

How about Contemporary Villas. CRV:confused3

I think Bay Lake Towers is a step up from Kingdom Towers but I think there could still be better options.

I definitely prefer Bay Lake Towers over Kingdom Towers.

But, everytime I see BLT--- I get a little hungry :confused3

Given that they may at some point replace the South garden wing with DVC, why not call it the North Garden Tower?

The problem with CRV, even though it is the most logical, is that it is the name of a Honda SUV. I don't think Disney would want that association.

I was thinking Villas at the Contemporary Resort sounds nice. Then I realized that makes it VCR, which also sounds silly!

I hate BLT too! Why not CV. AKV are not AKLV and BCV are not BCRV, and BWV are not BWRV so why add the "R" resort? Just to get three letters???? If it has to be three then how about CTV- Contemporary Tower Villas. And if the build another tower then stick with the traditional north tower and south tower, CNV for the north and CSV for the south. All I know is if they are going to try to get $120+ dollars a point from me it better have Contemporary somewhere in it so as to identify where it really is located. If I told non-Disney friends and family "suprise we are going to Disney and staying at Bay LakeTowers" they would look at me like I had two heads and ask why we weren't staying at Disney.

I've long thought of the Contemporary as "The Toaster". Now with the BLT, it's become "The Sandwich and the Toaster".

I hated "Kingdom Tower". BLT is at least an improvement.

I am not a fan of the name BLT.

I agree that Contemporary should be in the name. While we have Jambo and Kidani at AKV it is all part of AKV.

Contemporary Villas would be just fine. I think that most of us have said CRV because we call the actual resort the CR. Beach Club is BC, Boardwalk is BW. Animal Kingdom Lodge gets the L in AKL to differentiate it from AK the park.

CV or CRV works for me!

my opinion - CR does not have a great reputation - Cr is in the name

bay lake tower @ Cr.

DVC wanted to be distance from it.

the rumor I have heard is the south wing will stay with the CR - so CRV might work for it.

now happen to love bay lake - when we staying there in the wings and towers got a bay lake view mostly - once got MK view.

so Bay Lake doesn't bother me - but why Towers - this thing is tiny for a tower.

bay lake villas at CR -

BLV - okay what does this stand for that is strange or even:scared1:

Really, though, I doubt Disney was thinking along the lines of acronyms when they named it. I mean, I can't remember seeing anything "official" from Disney that refers to any of the resorts by their acronyms. Isn't that basically just an internet thing?

I wonder if they'll have guaranteed booking categories, like the mayo section and the mustard section?

How about it just be called...

Unannounced So It's Not Really There Villa Resort at the Magic Kingdom - USINRTVRMK

(don't ask me how to pronounce it though)
