BLT vs BC

Can anyone determine the winner between a 2 room villa and BLT or BC. We are planning a trip in 2020 for 4 adults and 3 kids (2, 7, and 12). We keep going between the two resorts. BLT has the extra bathroom, extra chair sleeper, proximity to MK, rooms look a little more spacious but more expensive. The BC looks like a great option as well easy proximity to two parks (hopefully park hopping will be back and this would be easier to go EPCOT in the evening after others close), options for visit the other near by resorts. Can anyone provide any insite on either hotel that can help sway us either way. Thank you!!!!

You say 2020 - so November or December? Mind if I ask your swim preferences? I personally would like the room at BLT over BCV (we got moved to a BLT 2BR this summer and I was in heaven there), but my kids (mine are 6 and 10) would MUCH prefer SAB over the pools at BLT/CR. For your range of ages, SAB might be the overall deciding factor if this were us.

I also really value walkability to two parks in the current environment (especially if DHS/RotR is on the agenda) - so I don’t think that can be overestimated.

I sure did love that BLT 2BR though - and you have a large crew (that extra bathroom could really come in handy).

My mistake I meant 2121! Next summer. The kids love to swim but as long as there is a pool they will be happy! Thank you for your input!

The pool at BLT is tiny. BCV has what many consider to be the best hotel pool at WDW.

Your children are of the age where they would seem to want to spend most theme park time at the Magic Kingdom. BLT is ideal for that.

The third bathroom is great if you have older children or more adults. Not sure if it's needed as much with children your age. But since you have 4 adults, 3 bathrooms would be a great advantage.

BCV allows you to walk to both Epcot and DHS. You also can take the Skyliner to DHS.

Really, it depends on what you value:

1. Pool? Then it's BCV.
2. Magic Kingdom? Then it's BLT.
3. Epcot and DHS? Then it's BCV.
4. 3 bathrooms for the 7 of you? Then it's BLT.

Again, what is most important to you?

The BC pool more than a pool, it's more like a water park. It's a real experience. Go on Youtube and check out Stormalong Bay. But that's no fun with a two year old (scary!) and you could always go to a waterpark if you wanted that.

For little kids, your focus will likely be MK, which makes BLT the winner for me. Hard to argue with that location. And the buses are all right there to anywhere your want (or will be, hopefully, by then). The views are just amazing. BC has some good views, but just as many are very meh. You know you'll have a great view of something at BLT.

But I'm not the type to go to Epcot at night. I'd rather close out MK every night. I don't go to Disney for the food.

We own DVC at BLT and have stayed at BC.

We like BC when we go to the Food & Wine Festival.

We prefer BLT because:

Walk to MK (this is so nice at the end of a long way - no waiting for transportation)
Extra bathroom
Easy access to many restaurants/quick service on monorail
Beautiful lake views
Very short walk to Contemporary (for food, shopping, etc.)

I would think about which parks you will be visiting on the trip and how many times you will visit them. If it's MK heavy, I would stay at BLT. If more days will be spent at EP and DHS, I would do BCV. My personal preference is BCV. In terms of proximity to two parks, tons of dining options and the resort bus stop, the location can't be beat. The pool is also much nicer. As a resort, I'm not a huge fan of CR/BLT, but the rooms are lovely and walking to MK is great.

If going to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is important to you, and you want to try to get a Boarding Group for Rise of the Resistance, and you would be able to walk from BCV to DHS: then go for BCV.

Currently people who walk over to DHS are getting in ahead of cars and buses.

The Skyliner won't necessarily start running early enough for you to get on at Epcot to get to DHS for rope drop. And the Skyliner never runs when there are thunderstorms in the vicinity. I would not consider the Skyliner a reason to stay at BCV.

If you don't care about rope dropping DHS, then see what people above have posted.

I personally love the Epcot resort area and regret it when I stay elsewhere. I like being able to walk to other resorts as well as parks.
