Due to a life threatening accident (I was hit by a car but luckily landed in a way that caused multiples breaks requiring surgery to my legs as opposed to landing on spine or head), my family (Myself 38, DH36, DD6 and DS2) had to postpone our Spring Break trip planned for next week as my recovery is 3-6 months. Disney is our Happy Place so I would like our postponed trip (tentatively booked for a week at the end of August) to be extra special as the kids have been incredibly patient and understanding. We typically stay at BLT but right now I’m trying to decide between a 2 bedroom villa at BLT or a 1 bedroom Tower suite at the Contemporary. Both would be theme park view. Which do you think would feel more “special”? I’m hoping I will be largely mobile by then, but will travel with a mobility device as back up so accessibility may be a small factor. I appreciate your input. I’m using my love of Disney planning to try to keep me occupied while I am still in the restricted stage of my recovery.

Best wishes for a full and quick recovery!

Since both would be theme park view, I think that will be the truly "special" aspect. Sitting on your balcony to watch the fireworks!! That said, with kids those ages I'd think the full kitchen and laundry in a BLT 2 BR would be very attractive, so that's what I would choose.

It really depends on what you value more - lots of space, a kitchen and W/D or the CL amenities that will come with the suite. Given your possible mobility issues, the suite may make life a bit easier as you will already be in the tower near restaurants and the monorail.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Wishing you a full recovery.
I think the suite in the CR might be a better option for you as well. Whatever you choose it will be magical! Have a wonderful vacation with your family!!

Since you will be just out of recovery, I would choose the CR suite with the CL perks. I do not think you are going to want to be doing laundry or kitchen duties while on this vacation. With 2 young children, viewing the fireworks from your balcony and having easy access to snacks and drinks would be the most relaxing.

I am DVC w/BLT Home Resort and luv my home but I recently stayed at the new designed “Incredible” Suites at the Contemporary Wing and would choose that for my family .Especially with their ages !
Have you seen the new designs?

The Suites have Club amenities. That would be a lot more special - being able to run to CL for snacks and drinks would be delightful for the kids.

I am not certain about concierge level … please verify when you are making your reservations. I think there is a difference between a1 bedroom suite and a 1 bedroom concierge level suite.
I still Vote for the Incredibles Suites for this trip !
Have fun

The CR Suites are all CL. Most of the suites are on the 14th floor which is also called the Tower Club (as opposed to the Atrium Club which is on the 12th floor and is all standard sized rooms). There are also a few suites in the Garden Wing that are “Club Level Access” that have access to the Atrium Club/12th Floor lounge.

OP, I’m a big Tower Club/14th Floor fan. The size of the suites will spoil you for life and the intimate lounge and friendly CMs make it a wonderful place, IMHO. CR CL perhaps isn’t the best CL in terms of food variety and quality, but it’s good enough (IMO) and the other things make up for it. They also did a really good job with the renovation (again, IMHO) as the suites had started to become pretty dated - they are now fresh and new! The CL lounge is also newly renovated as well.

Unless the 2 bedroom setup of BLT works better for your family (which BTW, I totally love those rooms too) and you’d rather have your own kitchen/laundry, I’d lean towards a CR suite if the CL services have some appeal.

FWIW, I do like that as a BLT guest you can access both CR and BLT pools, but note the same doesn’t apply as a CR guest. To me that sometimes (depending on time of year) has decent appeal, but perhaps not a major decision making driver overall.

I have some CR 1BR pics somewhere on the CL thread from the last few months if you want to try a search on that thread, if interested.

Happy to answer any questions.
