On a recent trip with some friends- we stayed on my points(I am the only DVC member) and had no problem with all 3 of us getting in. The glowtini and the view was awesome, as was some of the appetizers.

also i don't think if you're a renter, you have a member card.

we have expressed our concern/s for our first trip home over christmas.
if everyone sneak up & since it is a limited space, those that have that
right could be turned away. if you was an owner, i think you would feel
differently in what you are trying. however, it won't be the "guest" they
will hold to the rules, instead the cast member who isn't checking.

but if i knew this wasn't allowed to renters,and if we were renting,
we would not try. once you know this, & still on intending on going,
are indicators that you don't follow other rules. and since dvc has made
it clear that they will "hold" owners responsible, i would not be renting
to anyone not respecting dvc. this was done as a perk for blt owners &
other owners staying @ blt. that is what we are hoping for & will report
any cm allowing those up there when we are staying. especially those
crowding in front of family.

even if there was plenty of room, why should they allow others that are
not members, taking up the best views. i don't think the lounge is the
main attraction, or set up to make ton of monies.

I have a mixed opinion on this one. IMO keeping TOTW as a marketing tool has lost it's effectiveness. Obviously it is operated at a loss and so few use it, I see Disney changing the rules as early as next year. The observation deck gets busy 10 minutes before the fireworks and is empty 5 minutes after they end.

Guess we will just have to wait and see.

There was some speculation that TOTW will be opened to DVC members booked on cash reservations at the Contemporary through Member Services, which may bring in some guests, but not a lot of guests. I don't think they're looking for a huge influx.
