Hi.

If my WL and/or stalking does not come through for one night in September for my
GFVs stay, we will be at BLT for one night. Approximately, how long does it take for you to see your luggage if you give to Disney to transport from one place to another?

Thinking I may just want to do this myself. We will have two pieces of luggage to transport.

Thank you.

I’m not sure how long it takes, but I would allow at least 4 hours. You would need to be in the room at VGF for Bell Services to deliver them, so I would recommend sending the luggage, going about your day, and then when you are ready to check in at VGF, it should be there for you.

Another option, if you want to avoid the tips and have your luggage available anytime, you could bring it over yourself on the monorail. You can leave it with the greeter at VGF at the porte-cochere. They can leave it on a cart and store it in VGF. When your room is ready you can take the cart up yourself.

The Grand has some great bell services people, but sometimes it is more convenient to do it yourself.

Luggage is not permitted on any Disney transportation: boats, monorails, busses. (DME excluded, of course)

I would use Lyft or Uber.

The most recent split stay/luggage transfer I did was from OKW to the Poly. We dropped our bags at OKW bell services at 7 AM on our way to the MK, and they were at bell services at 1:30 when we left the MK to go to our room at the Poly. I wasn’t expecting them that early, but I casually walked by while my husband was putting my son down for a nap, and there they were!

I thought I read that they aren’t letting people use the bell services carts anymore, in any event 2 pieces of luggage, assuming they are both wheeled, would be easier to move than one of those bulky carts IMO, plus you don’t have to wheel the empty cart back to bell services.
The thought of taking a suitcase or 2 through security to get on the monorail made me smile - I had a vision of the bag checker having you open your suitcase and going through every item.
It seems to me when we’ve done split stays the luggage arrives mid to late afternoon, but it’s been over a year since we’ve done a split stay.

At VGF bell services will let you use the luggage carts by yourself, not sure about BLT, but AKV bell services won't let you use the cars.

If you want to take your luggage yourself, Lyft or Minnie Van are the way to go.

:earsboy: Bill

Thank you all.
I hate to not be with my luggage that long especially if our room is ready earlier but it is what it is. Maybe we will just uber.

Thanks again.

When I worked at one of the resorts, I often drove the transfer luggage. The designated time to start was always around 1pm and I’d load up the luggage in the van and start driving. Some days there were no transfers, some days there were 1 or 2 and some days there were a bunch.

I was always done by 3:30 at the latest, and that was only if there were a bunch of transfers.

The time they start might be different now, but in general the reason the time varies is because there’s one person driving the all the transfers from that resort around. If you’re the only transfer, it’ll get there faster.
