Hoping to purchase some DVC points from a friend for our first ever trip to WDW. Got super excited because I thought we finally had our resort picked after mulling over what seemed a million options. We finally set our hearts on BLT..... but our dates have to be over Thanksgiving from Nov. 16-24th.

After a bit more research I'm now wondering if there is even a remote possibility we can book a 1 b/r (any view) for those dates as this is not our friends home resort so we have to wait for the 7month mark. Can anyone tell me how likely this is?

VWL is our friends home resort but there are no availability for that week for a 2 b/r which is what we would need there (5 in our family).

Just worried about trying to book something now, in general, for that week in points that will accommodate our family.

Unfortunately I think you might find it difficult to book that week at 7 months out since a lot of people book right at that 11 month window for that week due to school schedules. You might be able to find something, but I'm guessing BLT is going to be a little difficult unless some change at the 7 month window to another resort.

Since your friends don't own at BLT, it will be another month before they can even look to see what is available at BLT. And by then you will probably be out of luck. AKV (but not the value villa), BLT and OKW would sleep five in a one bedroom villa. They all have a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room and a twin sized sleeper chair in the living room.

Right now there is almost no availability in 1 or 2 bedrooms for the whole week. The one bedroom has he most availability with having 2 days in a row during the week for lakeview or TPV. Standard view is completely gone. We are arriving the Monday after Thanksgiving and got one of the last standard view rooms at 11 months out.

Since this will be your first ever trip to WDW, I would discourage you from booking a major holiday week such as Thanksgiving. It will be very heavy crowds, long lines at the attractions, and difficult to get desirable dining reservations.

Rather than set yourself up for disappointment, why don't you plan your first trip for a lower attendance week so you can relax and enjoy everything WDW has to offer with less stress. JMHO. :)

I totally agree. Crowds can be bad at Thanksgiving, not as bad as Christmas, but nearly as bad. As you can already see, DVC members have already booked up several of the DVC resorts and Thanksgiving is still eight months away.

This is Great Advice If you want to fall in love with the Magic...
don't visit when you won't be able to enjoy it

I don't own at BLt but booked one bedroom for Thanksgiving week the first year BLT was open...Made sure I called member services right when they opened and right at the 7 month mark.
