BLT studio in MAY @ 7 months...

our 7-month window opens up next week, and i'm hoping to call and switch from our boardwalk view room to a BLT studio for 5 days.

anyone had any successes / failures calling for BLT at 7-months out - particularly for a 5+ day stay?

We just had success at booking a two-night stay for May at 7 months. Both nights include a two-bedroom and a studio, lake view. Good luck!

I just switched yesterday from March of 2010 to May 1-9th. We got a two-bedroom though not a studio. The standard view was open on the weekends but not the weekdays. So, we had to get a lakeview 2bdr to keep from moving in our stay. So, anyway I think you have a good chance, but maybe not standard view. May is a great time of year, if you ask me, if you have never been then.

we never have been in MAY...that's the reason we decided to head down around then next year. going to catch the last week of Flower and Garden Festival, and then stick around for another week following that.

we'll be looking for 5 days, sun-thur. any view will do if we can just get in the door - and then i'll probably just get on the waitlist for MK view...

We were on the waitlist for a month, but we did get Jan. 6 to 11th, a Dedicated 2 bedroom lake view at BLT. We're waitlisted for a standard view just to save points. If it doesn't come through by the end of this month, I'll cancel the waitlist, we have a March UY, so we wouldn't be able to bank the savings after that.

May is a wonderful time to go. I love the Flower show and go every year. It's during my March Spring Break next year, so I'm going then, not in May, but May would be my preferred time to visit it.

We are going to try to use our AKV points for June 1-June 6 at BLT for a 1BR MK view...........our 7-month window starts November 1. Is MK view as hard to get as the standard view? Any GUESSES as to my odds????

I got a LV studio at 7 mos. for February, calling exactly at 9 AM. They didn't have MK view, but they did have standard view in addition to LV.

The 1 BR may be a little easier to book. It's hard to tell, since there's very little booking history.

On October 1 at exactly 9:00 am, I called and reserved a standard view studio at BLT for May 1-8.

As long as you are ok with whatever view you can get you should be fine.

I called at 9am on Oct 2 for a 1BR, May 2-7. LV was available but not SV.

From what I've read, DVC resorts that are still actively selling points should be easier to book.

For example, BLT has approximately 25% more points declared than they have sold. This means there's more rooms available for booking than BLT owners points, making it easier for the 7 month window.

Also, since BLT sales have been booming, if by chance you don't get what you want, you may have some good success with a wait list. Currently, BLT's been declaring more rooms every 1-2 months. wdrl has been pretty accurate at predicting when the next declaration will happen at BLT. I think his last prediction was for more rooms to be declared late Oct/early Nov.

When the additional rooms are declared, that means waitlists get filled.

we just changed our resi too... 7 month window opened this morning. Had choice of 2 bedroom MK view, or Bay View for our 7 day trip... due to number of points, we chose Bay View.

May 15, 16 & 17. I'll be calling at 8:00am on the 15th. If I can can get a Boardwalk view studio, I'll be giving up my MK view studio for those 3 nights.

Called this morning at 10am and got a 1 bdrm LV, no MK views available, but was able to waitlist it and keeping my fingers crossed that it will come thru!!

I forgot to mention the dates!! We are going 5/10-5/16!!

Called at exactly 7 mos and was able to reserve a 1BR at BLT for 4 nights beginning 5/3/10. We are waitlisted for a standard view, but were able to snag a bay view.

Anyone else had success for later in the month?? I will be calling on 10/29 to change my week at BCV to BLT for 5/29 to 6/4 in either a studio or 1 br. I am not going to be picky on view - we just want to stay there. We have friends booked in a LV studio for those nights and we'd like to be close to them.
