BLT - Standard vs Lake View

We've just return from a stay in a lake view studio on the fifth floor - it felt like an identical view to our stay in a standard view the year before I know that from now on I will be booking a standard view if I can get one or a MK view for special occasions

Rooms views can be troublesome... Will you get lucky? Seems as of late we have been on the losing side as well. But sometimes I wonder had it not been for all the info we have now would it even be an issue? We are staying Lake view for Easter.

Interestingly we had room 7508, which according to the DIS view chart should be a standard view room! is there a way of checking this info if I ring MS, as we were definitely 'charged' for a lake view

UPDATE - just spoken to MS and I did actually have a lake view room (the rooms either side are also lake view apparently) - so just to say, I stand by my earlier post of saying that there are indeed some rubbish Lake View rooms - oh well that's a shame, but it'll be std or MK view from now on for me I guess.

We were in a standard studio last weekend. We were on the first floor. When we checked in, I remarked that I thought we'd possibly be higher than the first floor and the girl stated that all standards are first or second floor only.

That would make 'our' thread regarding BLT view totally wrong then, as that shows several rooms on floors 3-5 as being standard view.

Yes, there's a BLT room thread on here with photos, etc. That's why I thought standard views went higher. She said no, standards are first and second floor only. Maybe she was mistaken but I would hope the front desk would know.

I thought it started out as first two floors only then they reallocated some on 3-5

All I know is she said standards are first and second floor only. We were in 7140 which was a marina/lake/Contemporary hotel view. Not a bad view for first floor.

Well ... We booked a lake view for our first time at BLT this Easter. So I guess I will ask myself my own question... will we get lucky?

Unfortunately we always request a high floor and have always had floor 5 or lower at BLT.

At our trip at New Years I did ask at reception if there was a higher floor room available at check in when we were given a fifth floor room for our MK view stay and she moved us to floor 7 and said that that was the best she good do - fine, but it seemed a bit strange why we couldn't have had that room from the beginning, seeing as how they'd noted our request. I don't think they look at requests, well certainly not for me any rate!
