I have read recently that the BLT rooms may not be holding up so well even though relatively new. I have read that some of the linens and other materials used were not of very good quality and thus showing age quicker than typical. Anyone stay there recently and observed the same? Or are rooms still in good shape?

I'm at BLT now and this is my second time staying here in five months. My room is fine. You have to remember that some people will find fault with anything, even if it's a scratch on the furniture. Disney rehabs all of its properties on a regular schedule, which is more than I can say for most places.

The bedding is fine. People complained about the bedspreads--they got rid of them and now people are complaining about the duvets. You can't please everyone and some people won't be pleased no matter what you do. I have stayed in numerous properties at WDW in the last four years(12+ trips) and have never seen bedding or furniture that I considered to be in disrepair! For those people who have, my questions are: (1) Did you report it so that it could be fixed and (2) is all of your furniture at home scratch free? Just because a chair has a scratch on it doesn't mean that it no longer works as a chair. It just means that the person who scratched it didn't value that they were a guest in the room and not at home.

We were in two one bedroom units for a stay this past January (both standard view rooms, but one was "inner" ring with pool area view and the other "outer" ring with space mountain and lake view). Both were in great shape. I had no complaints about the condition of these rooms. I choose to spend money on better accommodations and expect a certain level of maintenance, but generally have not had problems at Disney. I don't have Disney blinders on - I did think some elevator and hallway areas at the Poly needed updating (obviously Disney is updating the resort) and was recently disappointed in the condition of the bathroom and balcony of our Swan (Westin) room, but generally have not had complaints about the condition of our rooms at Poly, CR, Dolphin and GF. I did post a thread with concerns about the condition at a non-Disney resort where we experienced broken furniture, writing on the walls, excessively scratched items. I didn't see anything like this at BLT. We thought both rooms were beautiful.

We were there in May and the only thing I could possibly say I noticed was the tabletop was a very shiny material and it showed a couple scuffs. But:
A. I would never give it a second thought
B. I would be extremely picky by even repeating it to someone if they asked me a general question about the room
I found our room to be very clean and in good working order. The only thing that was broken in our room was the pack n play and mousekeeping was up there within minutes with an acceptable replacement.
