We stayed in room 7512 the first week of June. This is a standard-view one bedroom on the 5th floor of BLT. This is the floor that has the walkway to the Contemporary. The room was nice, clean and quiet. I was so excited we were not on the 1st or 2nd floor and we had both views. Magic Kingdom and the lake! We could see the fireworks from our room. Love standard view. :thumbsup2 I guess it's standard view because you see the equipment below??

Here are some photos:

This is what we want too. I called recently and talked to a nice CM who did put on my reservation that I wanted an even number (since the last 2 times we were inside, so it's my turn). Plus I asked about a higher room and she took the time to look up the info and told me that on one side of the building you can actually go to the 5th floor, so she typed away while I was talking to her and she told me she typeed some notes in to help. I didn't ask for a specific room number, just higher floor, even number. We also have a standard 1 bedroom.

Do you all own at BLT that you could get a standard view reservation? I tried for January for 2 different time frames, studio one time, and 1 bedroom the other, and in each case, I had to book lake view. MK view was available for the 1 bedroom for my 3 night stay, but I couldn't bring myself to spend even more points!

If I had your villa, I would be happy to look out and beyond the concrete!

Yes, I own there. I booked this room somewhere around 9 months. But, I tried too book at the 11-month window to the day (even tried to walk the reservation a few days) for December 18 and could not get it. I couldn't believe they were booked as soon as they opened at the 11-month mark.

Thanks for the information. I am trying to decide if the point savings would be enough to offset the cost of a first contract for us at BLT. I always said that VWL is my MK resort of choice, but with my DCuz and for 3 nights, I wanted to do something special for her and decided a BLT 1 bedroom stay would do it! Wow, December really is popular with DVCers! We own at VWL for our early in December stay and BWV for the stay that includes NYE. The standard view point structure at BWV makes owning there worth it to me. As I said, I have to think about a BLT resale contract some more.

Great room! We will be in a 2 bedroom, SV, in August and would love to be on this side of the resort again.

So far, 2 of our 3 BLT stays have been in this area and we love it. I did put in a request, but only for "not first floor" for my SV room. I just prefer to be at least floor 2 but would love if luck of the draw gave me this!

Yes, I also have a small contract here too (100 pts). I only bought here for the standard room bookings. I just use the home advantage here every other year, so no BLT in 2012 and will bank those points for a future BLT standard stay. Like BWV I tend to use my home advantage to book standard rooms. I'm a point miser and proud of it. My 6 yo granddaughter just loves BLT (the slide and pool) so I do try to book here for her sometimes, plus walking to MK is such a deal for when the grandkids come with us. I can't imagine being able to book a standard here without the 11 month window. As some have mentioned, just recently folks could not get in at the 11 month window for December 2011 calling the first day, now that is scarey. But on a side note, I just booked my BWV January (last 10 days of the month) and tried to get a part stay at the BWV studio standard and could not get it. I know it's hard, but normally late January is an easier time to get a standard studio at BWV. It wasn't like it was only one day missing, it was 5 different days within my 10 day stay. I did do 2 waitlist here. I did the first 5 nights and the last 5 nights and am hoping one of the waitlist comes through so we can do a split stay at OKW. It does seem to be harder and harder to get the standard rooms at the 7 month window even during the slower times of the year. :confused3

Within the owner's window I couldn't get 2 nights of a 7 night BWV standard view studio stay that was to begin the Sunday of Marathon week in January. So, I waitlisted until the 7 month window opened and then I booked those 2 nights in a BLT studio, again Lake view. DSis and I will see how the BLT studio works for us. Again, the lounge to view the fireworks was the draw, she and I like viewing fireworks from the Cali Grill, so we get the view without the cost of dinner!

What a coincidence, we were in 7312 6/7 to 6/16. It was a great view because you could see both the lake and the park. Could watch the fireworks from my bathtub if I wanted to. Watched them from the room at least 5 times. It was one of the best perks of the trip and the room was awesome.

Yes, I know to stay away from the Marathon weekend, so choose Jan. 18-28 this year (even away from the MLK weekend). I guess I didn't think it would be that hard to get a standard studio at the 7 mo window during that timeframe. We'll see what the waitlist brings. But we are booked at OKW for the entire 10 nights and I'm happy with that too...we really like this resort for relaxation and no grandkids that trip either.

I've never stayed in a studio at BLT, only 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom/dedicated. We've done the rooftop several times and it's always a great perk, though my granddaughters do not like fireworks at all, so they stand near the back with their hands over their ears.

We're staying with extended family over the Marathon at AKV Kidani in a dedicated 2 bedroom. All 8 of us have signed up for the 5K family run and DDiL will do the 1/2 marathon. For the 2010 Marathon weekend, we were able to get a dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT.

I hope your DGC outgrow their aversion to fireworks!:grouphug:

Wow - we checked out of this room on June 3rd! You must have had it right after us!!! I agree the room was great and the view was fantastic!!!

We checked in the 4th and out the 6th and had to wait until after 4:00 pm to get in the room. Someone stayed one night and it took forever to clean the room??? We missed our dining reservation because of having to wait. (we didn't want to store our carry ons with bell services because my DD brought her expensive oboe with her to practice while on vacation, but that's another story).
