Has anyone had Disney buy back a BLT resale recently? Just had an offer accepted and am awaiting ROFR. 270 points, use year Feb, 118 points from 2010 and all of 2011, $96 per point.

Thanks

From everything that I have read, Disney is pretty much not ROFR'ing anything but BCV right now.

I think your BLT contract, at that price, will have no problem passing.

Good luck and here is the pixiedust that you hear good news quickly!!! pixiedust:

Someone "in the know" around here has the accurate answer for you. I've seen them post the ROFR results here...hopefully someone comes through with a link. But to hold you over, last I saw that list (about 2 months ago), Disney hadn't exercised ROFR on any BLTs as far back as the list went. I've also read, on these boards, that the only properties they are ROFR'ing are BCV and some low priced SSR contracts.

I suggest you take a look at Donald is #1's excellent thread on ROFR activity (see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1960185). It will give you a feel for what is, and is not, getting past ROFR for all the DVC resorts.

You may also want to look at my thread on ROFR transactions, which is based on warranty deeds filed with the Orange County Comptroller (see http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2529191). Whenever Disney reacquires a deed, a warranty deed if filed with OCC showing the change of ownership. Based on the transactions I have reviewed since June 2010, only three BLT deeds have been reacquired by Disney. As Sandisw stated previously, Disney seems to be concentrating its ROFR resources on BCV rather than the other DVC resorts.

I think you have a very good chance of having your offer pass ROFR. Keep in mind that Disney is selling BLT as low as $117 a point, so there isn't a big margin for net profit if it buys back BLT points at $96/point. It has to pay closing costs on the ROFR, and then it has to pay commissions and other overhead costs when it resells those points. Plus, Disney has about 1.28 million "new" BLT points it still has to sell.

That seems like a lot to sell. I wonder if they could have given me a better promotion deal when they spoke to us three days ago.

Disney doesn't negotiate in terms of price. They do, however, offer different incentives at different times so depending on when you buy and where, you could get a few extra dollars off.
