We are checking into BLT over the 4th of July. I have decided to let my daughter bring a friend so it will be two adults and three girls ages 6, 11 and 12. We only have a one bedroom booked and I am nervous about the room and space etc. I do not have enough points to move to a two bedroom but I could if I would change to OKW. Still thinking about that!! :confused3

Anyway- can someone explain the storage space in a one bedroom. They will have the second bathroom which will be great and also a pull out couch and pull out chair but where can they store their stuff? Is there another closet in the kitchen area or any storage in the living room or second bathroom for clothes etc??

Will we be cramped in a one bedroom or should I switch to a two bedroom at OKW?? My daughter's friend has never been to WDW and I am sure being so close to the MK will be a dream come true for her!! Thanks for any advice!:)

There is a small amount of hanging space for those people in the lounge (cupboard near the entranceway) and a good amount of drawer space under the television.

There is however nothing in the bathroom which is rather annoying. Provided you don't mind sharing the space in the main bedroom storage it should be fine.

We haven't been in a 1 bedroom, but stayed in a 2 bedroom in Sept. The living room area was very large. My boys slept on the pullout and the sleeper chair. They kept their clothes in the TV cabinet - there were 2 areas for storage. Our villa had a closet across from the extra bathroom, and the laundry closet had room for extra storage. There was plenty of room for people and stuff in that villa!

I believe a BLT 1 bedroom has a closet in the entry area. There is also a chest of drawers type thing under the TV in the living room, which works well for storage. I think you all will be fine. You won't be in the room that much anyways!

The room with the washer / dryer in it is HUGE. You should have no problems for storage.

Thanks everyone! We are sticking with Blt for sure in a one bedroom. Now if I could only get the nights on cash in a standard instead of theme park. Right now we are three night TPV on cash and five nights standard view on points! Oh well...maybe I will get some pixie dust and get to stay in the same room the entire time!!!:wizard:

Our washer/dryer room was very tiny - only enough room for the appliances and a shelf over them. Maybe some villas have larger rooms than others?

Not all the I BR has the huge washer/dryer room. We have stayed at the 1br four times and only two of those times we had a really huge washer/dryer room. The other two times, it was small room and only fit the washer and dryer.

We just got back from a 1-BR at BLT; myself, DH, DS 20 & DS 23 & had plenty of room. The 2 bathrooms are a huge help & there is plenty of storage in the bathroom off the master bedroom.
have fun - pgjam

Ours also was very tiny - just enough for the stackable washer and dryer.

I believe the inner 1BR villas have larger laundry rooms, while the outer 1BR villas have stackable washers and dryers in what is, essentially a closet.

Maybe that's what it is. We were in a 1BR on the inner part of the C (overlooking the pool).

The laundry room was walk in and could have easily fit a playpen in addition to everything else. Didn't think to get a picture of how big it was when we were there.

So are all the inner lake view rooms and lower levels standard?? Trying to get a good idea of where I should request a room. I have to move after day three from MK to standard view. I was thinking all inner were lake and standard and all outer were mk and standard. Is that right??

No, there are outer rooms that are considered LV. We have stayed in two of them. They were on the northern end of the resorts. But there are also ones on the southern end facing CR as well.

You should look at the BLT Rooms and Views with Pictures thread started by Work2Play (in this planning subforum). It was begun when BLT first opened, and lists, by room number, what you see from your windows. Lots of folks have since posted photos as well. It is invaluable! I use it every time we stay at BLT. Have a wonderful time!

Because of the crescent shape this is all true. The "outer" rooms facing MK have more room near the windows and smaller space near the hallway (hence the little laundry closet). The "inner" rooms facing the pool/Bay Lake are the opposite. Hence the laundry "court". If you have a theme park view room, you'll have the smaller laundry area, but I still don't think space will be an issue. For all people don't like about BLT, they did a pretty good job with storage space.

Here's the link to work2plays thread on BLT rooms and views. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2257082

It's not so simple that all rooms below a certain level are standard and above are lake or theme park view except those on the first floor they are definitely standard view. There are some standard view rooms as high the fifth floor but some lake view rooms as low as as the third floor.

Personally we prefer a slightly larger room over more storage space so when we ask for a LV we request an even number room (for the outside of the crescent) and a high floor. The even number rooms are larger because of the curve of the building is wider on the outside. Also those 1BRs have a larger island with stools for dining in the kitchen. Whereas the inner crescent 1BRs have a smaller kitchen island and no stools and a larger walk-in laundry room, and the rooms are slightly smaller.

There are drawers and shelves in the entertainment unit, plus lots of storage in the MBR. There's even a large drawer under the luggage rack in the MBR.

Here's a couple of photos of our last BLT 1BR, Room 8142

I couldn't the the width of the living room in one photo because it was so wide.

The sleeper chair is quite large.

The outer rooms are larger than the inner circle rooms.

I guess you have already read that!
