We are thinking of getting a new contract at BLT and have a few questions, We want to be on the monorail. Our issues are that they do not have any of there own restaraunts. It is already pretty busy at the contemporary and hard enough to get reservations even the counter service places are packed and the monorail to the MK is always packed. Now add in another few hundred rooms that share the restuarants. Does anyone know if BLT will have a stop on bus routes or will you have to walk and share the contemporary buses, adding to already crowded buses? Also will there be a epcot bus or is it a transfer and swith monorails. Thanks

Not sure about the busses. The Contemporary bus stop is very close to BLT, so I would think they would share the bus stop.

The new quick service at the concourse level is not too busy and The Wave restaurant seems to available for dinner.

Chef Mickey and Cali Grill are always packed and will need 90 day ADR's

BLT will share all transportation options with the Contemporary, including the buses.

I was there the week between Christmas and NY of 2008 and was amazed at how little crowds there was. Never had to wait for a 2nd bus, monorail, also there is walking to MK which many people take advantage of. Did have to have ressies at Cali Grill and Chef Mickeys usually, but the counter service was never crowded and could ride the monorail to several other resorts for different fare. When there was extra magic hours till 3am, many people broke their ressies at breakfast and I enjoyed going over to the Kona for breakfast. I also went to the kona at dinner with just a 45 minute wait early in the evening which we spent looking at the shops and fawna. Of course adding all those rooms could change all that, but I would say for such a crowded time of year - the contempory by itself was not crowded.

We bought into BLT specifically for the monorail transportation option. We have previously stayed at the Poly, but took our first non-monorail vacation this past March and it was a pain using just the busses. So, with the monorail, comes access to not only the Contemporary dining options, but also the Poly and the GF. Given that we usually stay at the Poly, we are very familiar with both the TS and CS options there, and have honestly never had an issue with Captain Cooks (CS) ever, particularly in the morning rush. If I find that the CS options at the Contemporary to be too overcrowded, my plan is to just hop on the monorail to the Poly. And, regarding Epcot, you will board the monorail at the Contemporary, and change monorails at the TTC to the Epcot train. So really, the only time you have to get on the busses are when you go to DHS or AK - - not too bad at all. Also, something else to keep in mind: BLT is a very short walk to the MK entrance, during which you pass right by all of the bus stops for the various resorts. That means that with BLT you also will have very easy access to all of the resort restaurants just by hopping on one of the return resort busses.

Anyway, good luck with your decision! :goodvibes

The walk from BLT to the CR bus stop is shorter than most rooms at BWV, BCV and about the same as VWL.
