BLT purchase (who's buying and selling?)

I just added on at AKV...I will wait until the hype dies off and I will try to book a room at BLT...I am happy with SSR and AKV right now.

not buying at BLT, but would like to stay there for a few nights occasionally - MK view.
we live < 1 hour from WDW and often can get a studio for two or three nights at most of the DVC resorts on relatively short notice in slow times. For example, I called in early August and got BCV for Sept, OKW for Oct, AKV for Nov, & BWV for Dec (all 2008, in Sun to Thurs time frame.)
I know it's not too popular to say this, but we really like SSR. however, if the Polynesian ever goes DVC, we'll buy!

As I looked at the point chart, the points for a standard view were equivalent to a preferred view at BWV.

Since my two favorite parks are EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios (MGM was so much easier to type! ), I think that I am just going to remain a very happy owner at BWV.

Perhaps I might stay at BLT some day, but I do not think I will own there.

I hope this isn't too personal, but if you financed what is the down payment? Do they use the $5 off per point as a portion of your down payment? We have 150 SSR points and 50 AKL points, but I really want to add on at BLT and get about 200 points there! I have been waiting for this for so long but not sure if we could swing it right now!

They will use the $5 towards the 10% that you must put down. Was just there today.

He said you cannot buy in for less than 100 points...I was planning on a 75 pt add on...We would not do long stays at BLT because we like the cozy feel of WL and AK...But we think BLT is great for short stays before or after a cruise or as a part of a longer trip...Cannot beat the location and the shower...It is also great for us because we are a family of four that need three beds (the kids cannot sleep together and won't sleep on the floor)...The sleeper chair at BLT and AK allows us to save points instead of being forced to get a two-bedroom...

But he said we cannot do 75 points...Anyone get that same information?

Your guide is wrong. You can do a cash add-on for 25-49 points and finance 50 points and above. We added on 65 BLT points & the contract is already showing in our summary.

I'm thinking about it, just can't get info here at my work computer because disney sites are blocked. I want to run the numbers, so would someone be kind enough to post the cost per point and how the $5 off per point works?

I find it interesting that less than 2% of those responding to this poll said that they will be selling their VWL points. It's not the mad VWL exodus that some have expected, given this data. The sample size may be too small, I know. I thought I had better say the latter because someone will criticize what I said.

I don't plan to buy or sell. I got just got in with 50 points in June at VWL. I would love to be able to walk to the MK but I love the VWL just more cozy for me. I dont really like modern decor.

I am not buying just bought 100 points at Ak to go along with my already BC and BW i am content right now i think.Until they have another just can not pass up deal. lol.
