Recently did an add-on to BLT (SSR is our home). We have an Aug UY. Not planning on using our BLT pts until Dec of 09 but was wondering:
If we have an Aug UY are our BLT pts available as of 8/1 or not until BLT officially opens?
Again, didn't make much of a difference as we don't plan on using it before then but was discussing with my sister-in-law who has AKV as her home (kidani)

2008 Use Year not her DEC 2009 Use Year. <<<
Her 2008 Use Year would be dates DEC 1 2008 through NOV 30 2009.
She may bank her 2008 Use Year allotment of points by July 31 2009 into her 2009 Use Year.
Your sister-inlaw's 2009 allotment of points would come on DEC 1 2009;
this is her 2009 Use Year covering dates DEC 1 2009 through NOV 30 2010.
Banking into 2010 Use Year would need to be by July 31 2010 if that is what they'd like to do.
Often there is Use Year confusion so to speak on what actual Use Year a member is in because members will sometimes tend to think Use Year in terms of an actual calendar year. This is especially true with a Use Year month that comes towards the end of an actual calendar year ( like December )
And yes BLT points and AKV Kidani points can't be used until Kidani opens at AKV (May 2009) and BLT opens (Sept 2009) because of reciprocity - - if you were allowed to use these points at another
DVC resort for a stay prior to these openings, like at BWV for example, then the BWV owner would not be able to book BLT ( or Kidani ) because those resorts are not available yet.
But you can make reservations prior to the resort's opening - - if you have Kidani points you can make reservations for stays May 2009 or later for Kidani or other DVC resort ( using the usual 11 / 7 booking window rules ) and
if the points are BLT points I believe beginning March 1 2009 BLT owners may make reservations for BLT. And you can also make reservations using BLT points for other DVC resorts following the 11 / 7 booking window rules provided the stay begins after BLT opening in Sept 2009 ( so for example if you wanted to book SSR for Oct 2009 stay using BLT points you may do so )
