BLT Points... confused about minimums...

I've seen comments on here of people adding points for Bay Lake but needing to buy 100 minimum... my question is are these additional points and the minimum based on people who have homes as other resorts but want to buy into Bay Lake or is the 100 the minimum for everybody if they want extra points?

BLT is our home and we have 160 currently which is enough since we are a party of 2 but we may want to increase our points dependent on some factors in the next while -- are we also limited to 100 minimum purchase being BLT 'owners'?

Yes presently 100 point add-on minimum applies to all DVC owners - doesn't matter

which DVC resort(s) your points are attached to.

I think for people who already call BLT home with 160 points or more they should be able to add in 25 point increments.... asking 100 points or more buy in from those DVC members who do not have the 160 points or more at BLT would be just fine since Disney wants to limit the 25 point only contracts.

I suppose one way to avoid these "25 point" addons from appearing into the resale market would be to have them merge with your existing 160 point or higher contract...I suppose you could allow the members to break these off in 100 point contracts but nothing less.

Minimum add on at BLT, regardless of whether you already own points there or not, is 100 for current members.

They are no longer allowing people to add on 25 or 50 point contracts. Even as a member, I wanted to add 100 points but break them into 2 50 point contracts. They said that could not be done. While I could have tried to fight it with a manager, I did not because it was not that big of a deal.

I know that when they first changed the requirement (15th of January), they did allow a few smaller add-ons to go through, but when I added on 2/7/09, the 100 minimum for DVC members went into effect.

The minimum purchase for new members is still 160 at BLT--it did not go up to 200 (which was the rumor).

Purchase requirements and incentives can change daily. Your best bet is to talk to you Guide and share what you are interested in.
