Which would be a better choice with a 6 and 3 year old?

Thanks

you park choice will probably be the MK - so go with BLT.

you can walk to the MK from BLT.

from BW you need to take the bus - it is a shared bus - either with D&S or D&S plus YC/BC. So it can take a while.

Honestly, I dont think you can go wrong with either place. If you go with BWV, ask to e close to the elevators.

If you plan to spend more time at the Magic Kingdom go with Bay Lake Tower, however if you plan to spend more time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios go with the Boardwalk Villas.

I stayed at both last summer..started with 4 nights at BW in a studio, then 3 nights in a studio at BLT, then 4 nights in a studio at WL. I have to say, that while the studio at BLT is a bit tighter than the studio at BW, it isn't tiny. There were three of us, myself, dh and dd, 17. We had no issues at all with space at BLT. In fact, I found the space to be much more usable than the space at BW...go figure.
My only issue with BLT studios with two kids is sleeping arrangements. Will the kids share the fold out sofa??? It's certainly big enough. There just isn't any room for an addtl bed anywhere.
But....BLT is a great choice if you have young kids. The walk to MK is under 10 mins and very safe. Kids seem to like being at MK more than the other parks, so the monorail resorts are a huge plus.

IMO, the options for food, MK access and monorail make the BLT a superior choice over BWV for your children's age.

The studio is very nice. You won't be spending a lot of time there anyway.

Now we are a bit biased being BLT owners, but man, BLT rocks!!

Either way - any stay at WDW beats a stay at home!!

I have stayed at both and to be honest, I would go with BLT, especially if you will be visiting MK more than the other parks.

It is so nice to be able to walk back to the resort after a full day without having to take sleeping little ones out of a stroller.

And, you can take the monorail to Epcot if you wanted to. It takes a while (and not the most convenient IMO) but an option.

While Boardwalk is nice, it is a bit of walk to the elevators if you get one of the rooms down at the end of the hall.

We are big CS people and I didn't like that I had to go outside to the Boardwalk bakery to get my morning coffee. At least at BLT, the walk is quick and totally covered so even when it was raining, I didn't get wet (can't say the same for my trip at the BW).

Good luck!

I'd never stay in a BLT studio with two adults and two children. It is much too small for a family. Okay for a single or two adults (possibly), but just barely.

When you open the sleeper sofa, there is almost no room between the bed and the sleeper sofa and no room between the sleeper sofa and the window.

And though they are resolving the problem with the bathroom sink in the kitchenette, it's not much better.

You really need a one bedroom if you stay at BLT.

As I said earlier...my dd, 17, dh and I stayed in a studio and really found it to be fine. Add to that the fact that I'm 5'8'', dh is 6'4'' and dd is 5'10''...and we still fit fine. We had no issue with the sofa when it was unfolded...how much room do you need to walk around when you're sleeping?? I was prepared for a very teeny tiny studio after reading these boards. I was most pleasantly surprised when I got there.
If the two kids can share the bed, then it's not going to be a big deal. But then again...I had no issue at all with the kitchen being right there with the bathroom vanity. It was truly no big deal for us. I liked having more room in the shower/tub/toilet area.

With your kid's ages, I'd stay at BLT and I'd try to get an MK view.

I'd pick BLT. The walk to the MK is just perfect. And you can easily take the monorail to the TTC to transfer to the Epcot monorail. So convenient!

BLT is awesome, specially if you get MK view. There's nothing like waking up at 3am to pee and seeing the castle out your window!

We stayed in a 1BR this past May at BLT, for our first visit to WDW.

It was amazing to be able to walk to MK in the mornings and take the short monorail ride back in the afternoon for a nap and go out again in the evening. We did walk to MK a few times in the evening to watch Spectromagic/fireworks but we always took the monorail home - the reason, there was no way our 6 year old and 3.5 yr old would be able to walk back at the end of the day! We visited MK so many times during our 10 day stay, it was great, so convenient.

Your kids are the same age as mine. DS will be 7 in a few weeks and DD will be 3 in Feb. We are staying at BLT in April on rented DVC points. We are staying in a studio with a MK view. DS & DD will share the pullout. They share a bed when we travel anywhere else. We spend most of our time at MK. That's where our kids love it most so we want to be close. The park we spend the 2nd most amount of time at is Epcot a short monorail ride away. We do about a day at DHS and no time at AK (just not our thing).

It's honestly a personal preference. Maybe when our kids are older and we start spending more time at other parks we'll move over to the Epcot area but for now we like the MK loop as we call it.
