Help!!! I am so torn between these two resorts don't know which one to stay at.

Taking my family on a once in a lifetime trip to WDW and not sure what 2 bedroom to get....

Will be doing a split stay 3 day at AKL and 3 days at BLT or BCV..... I love the idea of the Rooms at BLT but BCVs have Storm-a-long Bay .....Hows BLTs Pool???

Need any advice you have what will be more memorable for 2 thirty somethings, 2 seniors and 2 children Boys 9 and 7

PS ------Whats your opinion on OKW vs AKL Jambo ?????? Im torn there as well

We are huge BLT fans and love that we can walk to/from MK. We have stayed there twice and I love the resort.

The pool is okay and my DD13 enjoyed it. However, I don't think ti compares to SAB. We have not stayed at BCV yet (2 nights next summer), but from everything that I have read, SAB is wonderful.

The 2 bedroom at BLT does have the 3rd bathroom, which might be a nice option for a party of your size. And, the arcade at the CR is great--my kids have spent a lot of time there over the years.

Don't forget the TOWL, at the top of BLT (assuming you are staying on points). That is great for the fireworks. You can also take a boat over to both FW and WL from CR which is nice.

Good luck!

:) If anyone in the party needs a scooter, Jambo would be good because you do not have to board a bus to transfer for meals...like we did at Kidani. We did not need a scooter but I could see that being difficult to manuever back and forth between resorts to eat.

:) I am 41 and if I had to pick BLT or BCV for memories...I would go with BLT.

I haven't stayed at BLT yet, but I am a huge of fan of BCV. Not only do you have SAB, which is fab, but the whole Boardwalk area....which offers midway games, street performers, fun snacks and shopping, restaurants, surrey bike rides and romantic strolls. The fire/marshmallow roast/movies on the BC beach are great too. This is a great location to pop over to Epcot for many dining opportunities and we also enjoy the walk to DHS...which I swear is faster than the boats! This area offers a lot outside of park touring, so your time at the resort is a lot of fun too.

We've stayed at both and loved both of them. If you think you'll spend more time at MK than Epcot then I'd go for BLT. If you'll spend more time at Epcot then I'd go with BC.

How good of swimmers are your boys? If they are not really good swimmers I would be leary of SAB. Your DS9 should be ok, its the DS7 that would worry me still...

Our DS8 has taken swimming lessons at the local Y for just such reasons...

Our family stays at BCV every chance we get! I haven't stayed at BLT, it looks great. However, we have small children and they love all the activities at BCV. We also love all the dining choices SO close to BCV, from the Boardwalk to Beaches and Cream, and the Character Bfast right at BCV. Not to mention that when my husband and I venture out on our own we LOVE to take a night time walk over to France at EPCOT to get a phenomenal pastry (you must have the Nepolian)!!! Also, our parents have gone with us, and the BCV were great for the strolls, they loved the Boardwalk area, and they loved the ability just to go relax on the beach.

You're going to have an amazing vacation either way. Hope the input helps!

I completely agree with TIGGERmetoo...which is why we're doing a split stay, BLT/BCV, for our upcoming trip!!

I have stayed at BCV and monorail resorts (non DVC). I enjoyed the monorail resorts the most when my kids were younger. Now that they are a little older, we like the location and Stormalong Bay at BCV. So much to do there and an easy walk to Epcot or the Boardwalk for nighttime entertainment. We also like the central location to all the parks.
If you are going to be spending a lot of time at MK and Epcot, you cannot beat the location/view of MK at BLT. But it will take you longer to get to AK, DHS, Downtown Disney and the water parks.
Either choice has lots of pros and very little cons. Have a great trip!

When you say a once in a lifetime vacation, are you thinking more in terms of a special vacation for memories with your parents? If so, I would ask your parents for their opinion.

Are you looking more for a special vacation for your children? You might want to find out what they are looking forward to most. Certain rides (indicating a park preference), pool, etc...

Most important, you'll be on vacation with your family. It sounds like a memorable vacation regardless of where you stay. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
