Ok, so I have had this random thought for a while, but would it be possible that the BLT is not DVC but instead is a different, new Disney timeshare? I mean maybe that is why they are not announcing it? I know folks have seen various permits etc. for the building but I don't know if I remember seeing them pulled in DVCs name. It was a random thought I had a while back and I wanted you experts to punch some holes in my hypothesis!!

BTW, from the pics we have seen or the permits, does anyone know how many rooms BLT will have?

There are documents out there with DVC's name on them showing the layout of various villas at BLT among others. If it's not a DVC, then I'll be a monkey's uncle. Hmm, maybe I am one already...

Well, I hope you are not a monkey's uncle!! Like I said it was just a random thought!!!

Disney could always change there mind up to the point where they start to declare an sell certain unit's points, but it is unlikely, the 200 million they make on it over the next 24-36 months will go a long way to bolstering Disney’s bottom line during the economic turn down. If Disney goes CRO with BLT the income comes over a lot longer time.

The answer is yes it is possible. Until units are declared, nothing is set in stone. And the current documents specifically state that it is not necessary for new resorts to be included in the club. Still, I think it's extremely unlikely.

What would be the benefit of Disney having another timeshare?

Sounds like maybe it could happen though.

I think it will be either DVC or a regular cash suite tower (or a combination thereof). Probably depends upon the economy. Until some units are "declared" as part of DVC, they can always change their minds.

There are advantages and disadvantages to having a separate system if they chose to do so. Given the unique draw of the MK and resort location they could certainly structure this is such a way to appeal to a different group and possibly make more money. They could also run it out of the same shop if they so chose as other timeshare systems do that have multiple brands, levels of resorts. They could also see it as an opportunity to take the club in a different direction if they wanted. Still, I doubt it'll happen but it's not a no brainer as some would like to think.
