When I added on a few weeks back, I was told I would pay a prorated fee for 2009.

My UY is October so I get no points until 2 months after the resort opens. I thought I was told that I still have to pay MF for August and September. Does anyone know if this is true? Have an email into my guide to call me tomorrow but wanted to know what other owners have been told.

I know that those with February - August UY get 2009 points as well as received incentives (DP or cruise) which means they have points to use, this year.

I have also heard that someone with a December UY was told no, he would not have to pay MF until he gets his 2009 points. So, now I am confused.

It certainly would make sense for us not be charged until our UY kicks in but maybe there is another explanation that I am just not getting.

You pay pro-rated dues starting on the LATER of: your purchase date, the start of your initial Use Year and the occupancy date of the Unit you purchased.

If your first set of points is your Oct 2009 points and assuming your occupancy date is earlier than that, you will pay 92 days worth of dues for 2009 (Oct + Nov + Dec) and will be billed some time after Oct 1, 2009. If your first set of points were Oct 2008 points, then your dues will be pro-rated starting on your occupancy date. If that is Sep 1, 2009 then you will be billed for 122 days worth of dues for 2009 to cover Sep + Oct + Nov + Dec.

Thank you! I don't believe we were given 2008 points--would glady have payed the 5 months of dues for them!!!

UPDATE: I got confirmation from my guide that I indeed only pay MF for the last 3 months of the year. He misspoke when I bought the points.
