Hi all,

Since the MK views face the afternoon sun, I was wondering what the experiences have been with those who have stayed and experienced the heat in the room from the sun. I'm interested in late Oct timeframe (stays between Oct 15 and Nov 10th especially appreciated).

I would like to get a 1 Bed room for our 25th anniv and need to obtain additional points and am wondering if it is worth it if the sun heats up the room too much.

Thanks in advance for all of your input!

John

would think you would be fine - these have the balconies in front of the windows.

so although the sun can get in - it is not like the window face the sun unprotected.

BLT doesn't have sheer draperies like the other resorts and there were AC design issues early on and I don't know if they have been addressed.

Having stayed at BLT over Labor Day weekend in a LV room I would never use the points for a MK view. We were in a room ending with 04 and could see the lake and if we looked left from the balcony off the MB the castle and space mountain. We had small children sleeping in the living room of the 1 BR but think we could have seen the fireworks from there quite nicely. We were not really in the room that much during the day but did not have a problem with the heat and it was hot while we were there. I don't think the MK view rooms would be much different and in Oct or Nov should be much less heat.

Had a Grand Villa MK view 2 weekends ago with floor to ceiling windows.
Heat comming in from the windows made the villa unbearable with the shades up during the day. Thank goodness for the electric blinds on the massive windows. We were on the 14th and 15th floors right over the porte cochre(sp?). The veiws were amazing we could se Wilderness Lodge, epcot, studios and Mt. Everest with views spanning far north past the train barn.

And for some unknown reason BLT doesn't have ceiling fans which adds to the problems with the air conditioning. MK view rooms get very hot in the afternoon sun. Our lake view room was much more pleasant than our MK room. We had a good view of the Castle from our window. Had to look to the left but when I woke up in the middle of the night I loved looking out at the Castle.

Thanks all!

My thinking was along the lines of those responses. I was thinking about renting some additional points to surprise my wife on our anniversary in 2013. I think I'll go the lake view route and request an even numbered room.
