Quick question...For anyone who has seen one, do you think the Magic Kingdom view rooms at BLT are worth the extra points?

We stayed there in January and had a 2 Bed Room theme park view. It was really nice and our 2 1/2 year old loved being able to watch the monorail go into the contemporary. My brother had a lake veiw studio on the same trip and ended up still being able to see the castle, space mountain and the fireworks. I guess it just depends on how important getting to see all the action around Magic Kingdom is to you.

We feel it is worth the extra points.

We just recently tried the theme park view and loved it! We requested a high floor and although the castle was not front and center, we could sit on the couch and see the castle (Grand Floridian was center, the castle to the right and Contemporary to the left). My DD4.5 had a view of the castle all night. We loved seeing the fireworks every night from our villa. We would get this view again if we have the points available but it is a lot of points to fork out, particularly if you end up on a low floor. Also, some of the Lake View rooms have just as good of a view of the castle as we did.

I think what I'm really wondering is if all the MK view rooms are really full views. You know how when you get a hotel room that says "ocean view", but you might have stand on a chair and lean out to look around another building to see a tiny sliver of ocean? I was worried about that kind of thing.

You are worried with good reason.

We had a Studio MKV room last May, 6th floor, and you could look out the sliding glass door and see a beautiful vista of... the Grand Floridian. One person could stand in the curtains beside the sofa and see the Castle, and there was a view from the far left side of the balcony, but it seemed to me to be quite a bit less of an actual MKV than others in which I've stayed. So, yes, technically you could see the Magic Kingdom from the room, but it was definitely disappointing that, after all the great stories about seeing Wishes from the rooms at BLT, we all had to stand out on the balcony, squished together to get even a decent viewing angle. Followed by hearing all the car alarms go off after the thunderous final fireworks.

Oh, also, I was told by a CM that if I wanted a "good" view of the Magic Kingdom, I should have gotten a 1 or 2BR villa instead of a studio.

With access to the TOW lounge it almost makes the MK view kinda moot. We had an MK view 1br the last time we stayed there. We looked out the window once. We enjoyed the view (and food and drink) from the lounge. The Fireworks were fantastic.

Thank you, this is just what I wanted to know. I was thinking the studios would probably have less of a chance for a really good view. And I forgot about the TOW lounge, so that's a great alternative for wanting to watch the firewroks from you balcony. Thanks so much everyone. :thumbsup2

Yes! It is amazing. I've stayed at the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian and some of those views are fantastic. But our Magic Kingdom view from BLT was jaw-dropping. We were out on our balconies EVERY morning and EVERY night :wizard:

I find that like a previous post every night we wind up at the Top of the World lounge so having the MGK view is nice but not worth the extra points. The only benefit that I would see is if you weren't a DVC member and paying cash or if you had concerns about noise coming from the pool. The doors are very good at blocking any noise though unless you like to sleep with them open. The Sunrise in the morning from the Lake View rooms is awesome.

Ironic that I found this thread, b/c DH and I have changed our mind about staying at BWV pre-PCC 3.0 and would like to try BLT instead.

We've got the points to do it but were hoping to either see fireworks from CA Grill or TotW.

Haven't decided which and I'm scared of getting a low room. We stayed MK view at CR one time and it was fabulous! Got some amazing pics!

We do not spend alot of time in our room so we found going to Top of The World Lounge to be extremely beneficial to see the fireworks. Our son is autistic and this allowed him to see the fireworks and stem (hand flap) at the same time with plenty of room to move around. My husband and I went almost nightly to have a cocktail and enjoy the view-this was at Christmas time too. Just get to TOTW early enough. The kids enjoyed the hot chocolate as well. We had a lake view and loved seeing the water parade! It was great watching the sunrise in the mornings. If you have the points enjoy the view!
