BLT is Finally here...I can barely breathe!!

I just heard about this announcement today after waiting over 2 YEARS for the confirmation of what we on the DIS have known for years. BLT is FINALLY here!!!

We've been saving for 2 years, "just-in-case" and DH and I were just saying how thankful we were for not putting it into the stock market. I told him..."I need to have it ready"

I am just so excited I literally am having a hard time writing this! I just wanted to post my complete and total thrill at having the one thing I've always wanted...DVC at a WDW Monorail resort.

OK, so do you think $4100.00 will be enough for 2 160pt contracts?? It seemed like I was saving so much, now..dunno..lol

LOL it seemed like so much for DFi and I too... Only it's 4874. We decided to buy in February so it can accrue more interest in our account and so that we can continue to put our min 100 bucks a week in there. Goal's to have 7,000 so we only have to finance 10ish (only).

DFi texted me all day at work saying "I want BLT" and that he loves the rooms... Our apartment is decorated in retro Ikea fashion. LOL what does that sound like? OMG OMG OMG I Love it so much.

When are you going to buy? I see no point in closing this minute when i can save some and finance less...

SIDENOTE: we got engaged in may and went on the dvc tour but held out bc something with akv didn't feel right. our guide said you have to buy now these deals won't last (four months later, they are still here) and that blt most likely wouldn't be dvc so we shouldn't stake any future plans on that. so glad i listend to him (FOR ONCE)

The DVC agent we spoke to...mentioned this "rumor" to us on Sunday. When I called him on Monday his voicemail confirmed it!

Here's something to think about...

The additional 2K you are trying to put together will not effect the monthly payment much.

You're looking at a monthly payment around $171 financing 12K versus $143 if only 10K financed. Plus you can just make that extra $100 week payment toward the principle.

Yes but if I buy in February I will still be able to book, and that money will be accruing interest in my 3% fund and decrease total interest.

Is there any reason i should buy in the next few weeks as opposed to february if it could save me up interest?i would hate to miss out on 830 discounts...

We have gone on 2 tours, and came close to buying 3 times Liked Saratoga Springs, and the incentives, even filled out the paperwork and cancelled at the last minute. Just like you, it just didn't feel right, can't explain it.

Then on the 2nd tour,they offered the OKW extra years incentive, which we SO almost bought on the spot, LOVE LOVE LOVE OKW!!! Only problem, BLT was being constructed, of course no one saying anything and it had JUST started. My DS is a contractor, and he saw the crane and said.."Darlin, that crane is only used for buildings at least 10 stories tall" I knew BLT was coming, and we held off YET AGAIN.

Basically, those DH's do come up with an occasional good idea don't they

We are buying as soon as our guide will call me back...ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH... WHY oh WHY would he take the last 2 days off??? Anyway, I understand, I'm trying to stay calm, but it is very frustrating, I want to get our paper work in Now!

We are buying 2 160 point contracts, which is a stretch for our budget. But, I know BLT will sell out, and we can "stretch" now and have the points, or regret not getting them when we have more $$ saved.

I figure, get em now and make it happen. We are going to be financing about $25,000, but will pay it off within 3 years (possibly sooner). Doesn't matter though...thankfully my DH knows this is one battle he better not even think of approaching (nor does he want to). This will make Disney momma happy "to infinity & beyond!"

haha that's so cute... we were gonna buy on our disneymoon and now "have" to buy by april to beat the 7 month window for December... sooooooo i will save up and accrue as much money as possible until april. We want to purchase 166 points (enough for a mk view studio at our anniversary time OR to bank and save and have a one br... i can't wait. i don't think BLT will sell out that quickly so i'm not too concerned with adding on.... at least not YET. i'm sure it will happen soon!

I just am terrified in this economy to buy too many, plus we already have $23,000 saved up for downpayment and closing and all that on a house, but I refuse to touch that or even jeopardize that for DVC. DFi is reserves and student now and while he's on a full scholarship, I am nervous to see where the army takes him... Oh well I guess a few prayers and some pixie dust is all i can really do to enjoy the time we have together.

can't wait to experience the magic at BLT. i am SO in love.

My guide told me that during the fireworks, there will be a TV channel you can tune in to and listen to the fireworks music. It will be awesome to watch from the balcony and listen to the music! We can't wait

It is so cool to read other people excited as sometimes my co-workers think I am nuts the way I get so excited.

I could not wait for my rep who had the day off the first day it was announced so we had another guide write it up in the meantime. We are so excited and we bought two 150 pts contracts. We love the CA Grill and Chef Mickeys and with two children under 4, it will be awesome just to walk to Magic Kingdom.

My guide told me that during the fireworks, there will be a TV channel you can tune in to and listen to the fireworks music. It will be awesome to watch from the balcony and listen to the music! We can't wait

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I suddenly have just "found" money places and refuse to spend money on like anything else. Last night we went out to eat and while DFi got a margarita and a mexican platter i had water, the chips, and a side salad. Maybe this whole saving for Disney thing will make me a skinny bride!

That channel will be incredible. I love the Wishes soundtrack adn got so sad at being able to see it butnot hear it. I'm soooooo sold now. Like I wasn't before.

I don't have kids and I'm a nurse and I'm known as Disney girl at work. New people will say to me "but you don't have kids?" and someone will slowly shake their head at them to warn them that this is NOT a battle you will win.

He says, you all are hilarious, I've heard about you I personally took that as a compliment,

ANYWAY, I was approved for financing (which I didnt want to do, but did, and am happy...had a nightmare we got turned down... ) submitted our paperwork, and payment and it will be submitted to Disney on the 28th.

We are OFFICIALLY BLT owners of 320 points, and I feel like grabbing my pom poms and do something like this
