BLT in June 2012

Hi Everyone!

My husband and I just bought 250 points at SSR a week ago, and it is a surprise XMAS gifts for our children. Since we got both this year's points (and just recently traveled to Disney) we were looking to surprise my parents and siblings to come along with us the last week of June 2012. Because of the amount of people in our party, and the fact that due to my father owning a business we will only be able to go down from a Sun-Thurs or a Wed-Sun. So, we were looking to utilize the monorail at BLT. We will need "2" two-bedroom units at BLT for around June 24th. Do you think we will have a difficult time getting either a lake or MK view at 7 months?

You should have little problem getting lake view at 7 months. MK view might be more difficult.

You should call as soon as possible and get the reservations on the books! Availability of different room types literally changes from day to day. If you can get LV but can't get the MK view, you can always do a wait-list for MK view for each room. You can only have 2 active wait lists at one time.

You need to decide your exact dates so that you can call at 9:00 am when your 7 month window opens. I just reserved a lakeview dedicated 2 bedroom at BLT for the 1st week of June. I have reserved a BLT villa every May/June for the past 3 years at the 7 month window. Our first year, I reserved a 1 bedroom at the 7 month window, but needed to change to a 2 bedroom a couple of weeks later. All of the villas were already reserved when I called to change. Call early!

I agree with the others, today the 7 month mark is active for trips beginning June 4 or earlier, make your reservation as soon as you can.

Also if you can't get the dates you want at BLT you can book your reservation at another resort and WL for BLT.

In the future I'd recommend at the 11 month mark you make a reservation at your home resort and then at 7 months try to switch the reservation to another resort. That way you will have a reservation somewhere at WDW. Sometimes when people wait until the 7 month mark or later they may not get a reservation for the desired dates.

Thanks Everyone. I would have made an 11 month reservation, but as a mentioned, we just purchased this over a week ago (actually two weeks). I will have dates finalized next week. It is either June 24th or June 28th as a check in date. So I need to call the morning of November 24th or November 28th depending which date.

Do you know if Member Services will pull two rooms during booking since I need two villas?

The cast member will be able to book both villas for you at the same time (if they're available). Simply tell them what you're looking for.

What they can't do is guarantee they'll be ajoining rooms (or even close to each other). They can only mark that as a request. Ask the cast member about a "travelling with" designation to link the two bookings. (I don't have personal experience with this, but someone was talking about it in a recent post.)

Make sure you call exactly 7 months out. Also, there is a risk of not getting what you want. MK view will likely be booked. Lake view also has a higher risk of being booked at that time than many other times. If start date is June 28, you are looking at the beginning of extremely high demand time because of July 4. June 24 start date may provide a better chance.
