I am on my first stay at BLT, in a studio. Very nice but for a few things,
First, the shower heads in our room will hurt your skin the water streams are so sharp. Perhaps that is to save water on short showers. Also there is no shelf in the shower for soap or shampoo.:confused3

Hey, if that is all we can find, I'll just bring my own shower head next time.:rotfl:

Our late night snack at the Top of the World lounge was very nice last night!

We are enjoying our two day stay without kids very much!

Have fun on your stay!

And I know the pain!! The showers can be toned down - just adjust the shower lever partially back and it'll help a lot.

Maybe the super-pressurized showers are there to make up for the totally zilch shower head pressure at AKL! It was awful!!!!!

It is weird that they didn't include a shelf for soap, especially when they have them at VGC. I put it down to an oversight by the project manager. Most of the flaws identified are probably the result of the project team doing a poor job. If DVC were just trying to cut corners I would expect to have seen that at VGC. The rooms are similar 1 bed up in layout to BLT, but finishes are much better.

I mentioned the difference in quality between the resorts in my feedback to DVC. We enjoyed our stay despite the silly flaws with some of the finishes

My husband mentioned this to them when we were there. They looked at us like we had five heads. It was difficult to give the kids a shower in that bathroom because they complained the water hurt their skin!

Heading to BLT in 30 days.....YEAH!! :dance3:
I will bring my own shower head, wife thinks I am crazy, but she will thank :worship: me! :rotfl2:

We just returned from a four day stay at BLT. We had a 1 bedroom, lakeview villa on the 14th floor. I agree about the lack of some sort of shelf in the shower .

What was really perplexing was the door to the laundry room would not close all the way because the door hit the front of the washer. I think that they when designing the space, they didn't take into account the dryer vent in back of the unit. Bad planning by the architect. I didn't let it ruin my trip though. The views were awesome, and BLT is very convenient to everything in the Magic Kingdom area.

The showerhead in our 1BR was so bad that DD screamed as soon as the water came through. It really was awful -- I couldn't stand it either.

Also, in our room the cushions on the back of the sofabed had frayed out at the seams -- it's a fabric issue, rather than wear and tear. They picked a loose weave, and then clearly didn't reinforce the seams very well. It's too bad.

Seriously folks you can adjust the shower head. After turning on the shower, just push the lever back towards off until you get the amount of pressure you want. I'm not sure, but I have pretty sensitive skin, I bruise easily, and it worked for me, so I would think by doing this adjustment it should make the shower pressure soft enough for a child's skin.

I wish BLT mangement would put up a sign to warn people as it's really painful if you don't do the adjustment. I really think the problem is not just the shower head but the pumps that bring the water into the building and up to to the upper floors. If the the pumps are too high pressured it will affect the plumbing. We lived in a high condo before and I remember this problem being discussed when some remodeling was being planned.

We agree on those two items. We just got back from our 1st stay there. Otherwise, we love it! The carpeting in the villa we were in is already showing a traffic pattern. I'm suspect MF's will be going up soon as it doesn't seem to be wearing well.

In our dedicated 2BR (8030) 10th Floor, the dishwasher did not stay well in its spot - it sort of seemed like it was pulling out, only it didn't come out. Also, still a measurement number on the bathroom wall, never covered it up with another coat of paint.

Yep, mentioned those 2 exact things on our supershort mini TR last May.
Completely agree... those showers can peel off your skin... whew

I like the electronic Safe in the closet... as opposed to the in-wall safe with a key at other resorts.

I'm am very surprised by the rather trivial design flaws -- the bathroom door, the laundry room door hitting the dryer, etc. -- actually made it through to the final design. Did they use an architect who was asleep in class during those lectures? It just seems stupid to me and I would expect more from ANY builder, but especially Disney.

I had read, on these boards, all about the high pressure in the showers at BLT. I also read how to fix them. Once you get the water in the shower running, just turn back the water diverter thingie a bit, until the water pressure is better. We always turned it on full force until the water temp got to where we liked it, then we turned the diverter back a notch or two...seemed to do the trick quite nicely.

The funny thing about the design flaws at BLT is that I have talked to those who should 'know', and they have said that things in the Treetop Villas were pretty chintzy as well. They found that furnishings weren't up to snuff and that a lot of the materials seemed to be of a lesser quality.
I have to think that BLT is pretty much the same way. One would think that Disney understands the 'penny wise, pound foolish' mentality...guess not. Now, they have to go back in and redo a ton of rooms. Not to mention redoing those villas that start to age in about 1/3 the time it normally takes due to lesser quality furnishings/materials.

That may have been because all the pressure was in the toilet. OMG you could lose a limb while flushing.:lmao:

:rotfl:

How true!!!
We stayed at BLT and then moved over to AKV... Everytime I flushed I had to do a little jig so I wouldn't get sprayed...
I guess they want us to take a shower after each time we go potty...
