BLT bag drop question/security question

One morning we will be arriving at BLT SUPER early - around 6:30 am to drop off our bags from our AKL first half stay. Do I go to BLT or Contemporary for this? We will be taking an Uber.

Anyway, we will then walk over to MK for the 7 am opening. Where is security for us?

While I'm here.......if we want to be at MK for the 7 am opening, what time would you suggest getting to BLT at to drop off our bags and walk over (this is all very new to us).

The check in desk at BLT only operates between 7 am and 10 pm daily. Outside of those hours, you need to go over to the Contemporary.

Security is set up along the sidewalk between CR/BLT and the MK.

I've never stayed at BLT, so I'm not sure the answer to your first question. In regard to security, there will be a security check on the walkway between BLT/CR and MK. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to walk from BLT to MK, so if you arrive to drop off your bags at 6:30 am you should be fine.

Good to know BLT doesn't open until 7. So at Contemporary, is it easy to find the bag drop? Will I have to check in? I have signed up for online check in, but I might want to visit the desk anyway to be sure my second DDP is activated.

Another question....is there a way to call the front desk directly from an outside line? Or does it all go through the main Disney number?

All calls to the Front Desk, whether from an outside line or your room, are answered at an offsite call center likely by a person who has never been to WDW

Another option would be to have AKL transfer your bags to BLT, then you wouldn't have to worry about transferring your bags. That being said, if you do that, your bags won't arrive at BLT until after about 3pm (I think that's their guidelines). So, if you want access to your bags before that time, then it would be best to bring them yourself.

Definitely considering this option but if we are getting such an early start we will be ready to head back by 12:30 and I would like our stuff. But maybe we can pull together a small bag and carry that in the stroller.

Your room might not be ready by 12:30. While you can check in after 6 AM DVC rooms may not be available until the posted check in time of 4 PM. Being homeless on the day you switch resorts is one of the downsides of a split stay. You might be able to get into your room early if you indicate you will be checking in early and would like your room ready by noon and make that your only request.

You might be able to get into your room early if you indicate you will be checking in early and would like your room ready by noon and make that your only request.

Check in for DVC villas is after 4PM. So anytime after 4PM is when you might expect your villa (if you don't get it earlier). And it will depend on when you are staying. Sometimes might not be as busy as others. But DVC resorts are usually booked from 95-100% full.
