Our home resort is SSR but we are looking to stay at BLT next year for our 20th anniversary trip without the kids. We are looking at a Wed thru Sat stay in June 2011 and would like an upper floor MK view studio. Trying to decide if we should rent/transfer points with a BLT owner to increase our chances of getting the room we want rather than wait until the 7 mo. window. Anyone have experience with BLT reservations at the 7 month window?

You will have to be quite lucky to get a MK view studio (or a standard view) at 7 months, even if you waitlist. Lake view should be available for your dates at 7 months, though.

If getting the MK view is important, then yes, find a way to book it as close to the 11 month window as you can.Getting an upper floor is a request - no way to guarantee it.

Good luck!

I don't know about June, but I just called at 8 mos for Dec and there wasn't a studio in any view category and there were also no 1 bedrooms. I'm wait listed for a SV and LV, here's hoping!

Good luck with your booking!

We got a 1BR at 7 months with no problem for this July:thumbsup2

SSR is our home resort & I called at EXACTLY 7 months out.

A studio was available as well, but we have read here on the DIS that they are tiny, so we decided to go with a 1BR.

We just booked a 1-bedroom lake view for November yesterday. I am so excited! There were a few nights available in both standard and magic kingdom views but not all 5 that we wanted.

Are you allowed to waitlist more than one view at 7 months? I would assume this would increase the chances of success. If so, do you rank them in order or preference with MS?

You can only have 2 active waitlists at a time. If there are no other waitlists, you can ask to be on the waitlist for 2 views. They don't take preferences.

ITA with CarolMN about the MK view.

FWIW, we did an add on at BLT last month so we could have home resort priority for the first week in December. At 8+ months out there were no 1BR's available in any view catagory! We are waitlisted. While I'm hopeful there will be some movement once the 7mo window opens, I'm not very optimistic. Given that we will have stayed at BLT 4x in the first year its been open, it's not the end of the world for us to stay somewhere else that trip.

Granted we are talking December not June but I think with BLT being so new alot of people want to give it try & are transferring ressies at 7 mos.

If its a big deal to you, I would try to book at 11 months.

I recently called right when MS opened at the 7 month mark to switch the first two nights of our trip to BLT (11/6 and 11/7) . I was expecting that LV would be available, but was surprised that MK view was the only view available! I didn't want to use the extra points, so I waitlisted SV and LV, and the LV waitlist came through the next day. :thumbsup2 BTW, we are staying in a studio. Good luck!!

I don't know about June, but I called MS today for our trip 11/12 - 11/19.

I was able to get a standard view 1 bedroom at BLT :cool1::banana:, lake view was also available.

There were no MK views for the dates I requested.

Today is my 7 mos. date and when I called MS right at 9:00am I was able to get a 1 bedroom, standard view at BLT! This was my first choice and I'm so excited that I got it. :cool1: Looking forward to going Nov. 13 - 20 and experiencing this resort.:)

I called at 7 months out to try and switch from VWL to BLT to either Standard or Lake View Studio for our October 30th stay and I was waitlisted. Haven't heard anything since we waitlisted and I don't think we have a very good chance of getting BLT for that night.
