BLT at 7 months

Has anyone had any luck getting BLT 2 bed standard at the 7 month mark?

Not me, but I did get a 2 bedroom lv dedicated at 6 months. I was on the waitlist from the 7 month mark.

We called at 10 months for a 2BR Standard View and couldn't get it, but they had plenty of LV (for first week of May).

I was wait listed for it up until about a month ago, and then called to cancel the wait list, deciding we'd prefer the LV after all.

When I called at 7 months (for early June) there were no 2 bedroom standard or 2 bedroom dedicated lake view. They only had 2 bedroom dedicated MK view or a 2 bedroom lake view lock off. I was surprised about the no dedicated room and went with the Beach Club instead of waitlisting here even though I loved the CR when we stayed there and was wanting to try BLT....this just means another visit.

There aren't many standard view rooms at BLT, and as you can see by WDRL's contract updates DVC has been selling a ton of BLT points in the past couple of months.

I highly doubt it... right at 11 mos i had trouble with a standard... I had to adjust my dates to get it. There are very few standard rooms that it'll be a very lucky break for a non-owner to get one at 7 mos.

You should be OK with Lake View though

We got mid-May, 10 nights, 2BR LV with no problem at all at 6 months. Could not get SV at that time. Waitlisted for SV but did the same as you and pulled it. We decided that Lake View is just a bit nicer and we don't like looking at the parking lot. Many LV rooms have nice views of the MK, so that's a plus as well. I understand BLT can be tough to reserve in peak times, but off peak, it doesn't seem too bad. I suppose for peak periods, you'd need the 11 month advantage, but other than that, it seems to have reasonable availability. My guess is that the high point requirements make it hard for many DVC members to justify staying there, even with the fantastic location.

There's a thread that has a room map by category of all the BLT rooms. It's easy to see the "standard" category practically doesn't exist. It's just the first 2 or 3 floors of the tower, a really small number of rooms. I was thinking the "inner ring" where rooms face each other would be standard, but no, mostly considered lake view except those first couple of floors.

I got the last SV 2 bedroom lock off for my August trip at the 10 month mark. I could not get all my dates for a 2 bedroom SV dedicated for those dates.

I tried to get a 2br Standard View at a little more then 10 months for our trip in early nov. 2011 and could only get a dedicated 2 br LV. As others have said, there are not many standard rooms in BLT.

We just bought into DVC last month (AKV) and got a 2BR LV at BLT for Mar 20-27. And this was not with our guide getting it for us because we actually switched from the week she did get to this week. She told us that to get a SV at BLT you pretty much have to be at the 11 mo mark because of, as previously mentioned, how few SV rooms there are.

I believe standard view at BLT will be as hard or even harder to book than BW view at the Boardwalk. One main reason is so many people that bought in at BLT were able to buy in at 100 points . That doesn't go very far at BLT with the high point costs So I think mostly qwners will be getting those standard points unless you really hit it lucky.

I just got done changing the first two days of our reservation for August to a BLT Studio instead of BCV studio. I asked for MK view and got it. She said there were 3 available when I called this morning at the 7 month window.
