BLT, any chance at 7 months?

I have not had any luck with BLT! so everyone else seems to be having better luck than me! I called the first hour of the first day of the 7 month bracket and I am currently wait listed! So we will see what happens!!!

BLT should have an additional category of view rooms to split the bay lake views on the outside with the ones on the inside facing the pool. We stayed there and had specifically requested to stay on a high floor, on the outside, facing north. We were placed in the middle (9th floor) facing the pool. The rooms facing the pool have over half of the view blocked by other rooms. We spent the last four days of our vacation staring at other people on balconies, in various stages of disrobement. We tried to get a MK view, but those had been booked solid from the first day of the seven month booking period for non BLT owners. If DVC had a specific category, I would have either been guaranteed the view I wanted, or would have known I would be getting a pool view and would not have been disappointed. I would have been willing to use more points for the additional view. My advice would be if you cannot get a MK view, don’t bother with a bay lake view. If you get stuck on the inside, your view would be just as good, if not better with a standard view. We were also supposed to be in a 2BR lock off, but got a dedicated 2BR. When we complained, we were told by the CM, “You can see the bay. You’re in a two bedroom. You got what you paid for.” If enough people complain about this, DVC might actually do something about it.

This is the fourth BLT thread with the exact same response from this poster. You were diappointed you didn't get your REQUESTS. I get it.

Sorry for the digression... I think the 7 month window can be a matter of total luck at any resort anymore. We were not able to get BLT for the first week of December scared1: Can you imagine that??? ) so we purchased an add-on in order to get the priority booking window in the future. We have stayed at BLT 3x since last Aug & all of those bookings - for a 1BR Standard View - were all made at 7 months (visits were Aug, Jan & May) so we've had no issues.

With Membership ever increasing year after year, things like room size, special events & resort size can/will greatly impact availability. Want a standard view at BWV or just about any room at BC during F&W? Or how about VWL between T'giving & Christmas? Hmmmm... wouldn't bet on it. Might get lucky, sure. Hope fpr the best but have a alternate plan you'd be just as happy with just in case.

If you have your heart set on something plan early, utilize the waitlist, consider split stays & if something is THAT important to you.... get home resort priority so you can be on the phone with MS at 9am the day your window opens

I booked 1BR Std view for Aug 24-31, YESTERDAY. No waitlist. Just called and locked, and I haven't even closed on my DVC points yet.
Give it a shot.

I got a 5-day stay at BLT for January during MLK weekend, Lake View Studio; booked at the 7-month mark (at 9:00 a.m. sharp) using my OKW points.

I guess I just have bad luck! I was not able to get BLT at 7months. I called at opening of 7 months and our first night was not available. Called next day to book what they said was available and yep again first night not available. So called again next day and only 2 days were available. I did waitlist but forgot that when you have 2 waitlists and one comes through the other is canceled and of course our HH catagory at OKW came through. So I call once a week and nothing until yesterday when I was told only our first day was available. Of course the one day that stopped us from getting BLT at 7 months would be the only day available now!

called 6/1/- looking for GV BLT 1/1 through 1/8- could only get 2 days ( 1/3 and 1/4) so now we are on GV tour- BWV 1/1 and 1/2 and AKLV Jambo for the rest!

WE got 3 nights in Nov. at the 7 month mark. It's the weekend before Thanksgiving as well

I was able to get 4 out of my 6 nights lats year over Thanksgiving for a LV studio at 7 months which I was very surprised about as well as a dedicated 2 bedroom LV for a week for mid June. The June request was waitlisted but came thru within a week of the request which I believe may have been less than 7 months when I requested it.

So my philosphy is that it is always worth a try to change even with a waitlist because you never know what can come thru

I have tried for BLT twice at my 7 month mark, and was able to get the reservations both times. The first time was for this past May and the second time is for Sept. We ended up changing the May reservation to AKL, so Sept will be our first time staying at BLT.
