BLT and Publix at Lakeside Village

Staying at BLT next month. Can I exit the resort by car and turn right/north onto World Drive, then Floridian Pl, then Reams Rd in order to go to the Publix at Lakeside Village? Google maps says it may be restricted usage or private roads. We usually go to the grocery before we get on property but I'm thinking of dropping the rest of my party off at BLT then hitting the grocery.

AFAIK, there are no Disney security check points along that route.

I'll add my confirmation to the above. We've entered and exited the WDW property that way several times in the last few years. You won't have any problems.

We arrived for our vacation that way this time because we were coming from Atlanta. We never realized until then that it was a shortcut to groceries from BLT.

There is also a decent Pizza place near Publix called Piesanos that we enjoyed on our last visit. We ate there prior to shopping so as to avoid buying up half the grocery store after a long drive.

Only issue would be returning on the same route. You cannot make a left from World Drive to the Contemporary entrance. You would either have to go past the Contemporary and make a U-turn at some point, or you continue down to Vista Blvd (the road that runs along by Golden Oak and Fort Wilderness) to come back to World Drive from the other side.

There is an entrance to the BLT parking area from World Dr that is just north of the main entrance. It looks to be gated but I wonder if hotel guests would have access?

I believe that is for cast member parking. I do not believe hotel guest have access through that gate (but someone can correct that if it is wrong)

It’s for sure Cast Member parking and not for BLT guests. I asked the BLT guard during our last visit.

We have done this many times. I think WDW doesn't want us to know about those roads as you do see some back stage type stuff, but it docent take away from the Magic IMO. You can see area where they keep trains and monorails when not running, fireworks launch points, etc. Its the closet Publix and easiest grocery store from this area to get too.

Just don't go or come during CM's shift change, traffic can be brutual.

I can confirm that is a cast member gate, as I was coming back from that very Publix with or groceries the morning we arrived!

I had to buzz and ask to open and went back out and through the right gate

Loved the "backstage" view of space mountain and Tron on the way to publix and the gas station I used to fill before leaving for the airport.
