BLT/AKL split stay October 2015

We are heading to our home resort, BLT, for the first part of our stay. We decided to add on one more day and BLT was booked so we are splitting our stay at AKL. Sat-Thur at BLT, Thurs-Sun at AKL. This is our first time at AKL. We are in Kidani in a savanna view room, but should I make additional requests? I thought a higher floor would be better. Looking for opinions and photos if you have some. I'm dreaming of coffee on the balcony with giraffes!!!

Sunset Savanna and a lower floor will get you closer to the animals.

Close to lobby and elevators. People complain of the long walks. I enjoy them but hauling luggage can be tough.

You have better views with a lower floor. This is an advantage for Kidani over Jambo because you can't get lower floors at Jambo with DVC.

Thanks for the tips. I've now changed my request to a lower floor savanna sunset. Although after reading all the reviews about the length of the hallways, I might need to change my request again and go with "close to pool" or something as the first choice. Is there only one bus stop at Kidani? If you are all the way on the north end of the hall, do you have to trek all the way to the south end for the bus?

There is one bus stop. It's located by the front entrance which is in the middle of the "C" setup. For park buses you will then go onto Jambo for the one bus stop at that building. For DTD, Jambo is picked up first, then Kidani and then on to DTD. I mention this because we were once in a room at Kidani at the end closest to Jambo and sometimes we found it easier to walk over to Jambo to catch the bus. I'm sure it wasn't any closer but it switched things up for us instead of walking the long hall. That end of the "C" is opposite of where the pool is though.
