We stayed at BLT last week and unlike my previous studio stay just 2 weeks before, our Bay Lake View studio was quite warm!! Granted, it was hot last week.

Does anyone know how to bypass the stat?

I called 3 times to maintenance. I heard the gamut, from the stats are on sensors and they shut off when you open the door or sliders, or they dont turn on for 15 minutes once you enter the room, etc. Ours came on when it wanted to, no matter what the reading said. It would go no lower than 65 on the readout, but never cooled the room to less than 78 because that is where I start to feel uncomfortable and stuffy. No matter how I pressed the buttons, nothing happened. It was like the stat on the wall was not connected to anything.

Neither of us like it that cold, but I need air moving! 72-74 is agreeable for us both. A ceiling fan would have been helpful but there are none of those either so it was really stuffy. Dh did not complain, but i noticed at night he was coming from under the covers and he NEVER does that.:rotfl:

Our AC would turn on for 2 minutes (I timed and recorded it using my Iphone) and then it would turn off with an extremely loud clunk! It sounded like the door slamming, all night long. I kept waking up thinking someone had come into the room.

The 3rd time I called, they didnt even come up. Told me everything was fine and that is how the units sound. That's when I recorded the clunk with my Iphone because I know I am not crazy and the studio I had before had none of those problems.

Anyway by day 3, we moved over to BCV and had great controllable AC:wizard:

I contacted MS and wrote member satisfaction, but has anyone else had AC issues at BLT or know how to adjust the stat? I dont think I could endure another stay under those conditions. I was tired due to the noisy AC all night. We enjoyed our stay but I wont accept that studio ever again!!

Our dedicated 2br at BLT had less than efficient A/C even when we were in the room and moving about. Had maintenance come up the 2nd day we were there and it was supposedly fixed but it never cooled off like it should have. I also had it set to 65, as low as it would go. I couldn't even get ready in the AM without breaking a sweat.

Wow, remind me never to stay at BLT. I just came home from BCV last night, and one thing that bothered me a little was that the studio always seemed a little warmer than the temp I set. Maybe it was just the comparison with the previous week I'd stayed at AKV Jambo (and yet, the weather outside was hotter when I was at Jambo). At AKV, my room was so cold!

I had the same problem with our AC in an AKV Kidani studio this June - except for no loud kathunking. Even though the thermostat said it was 65, it was more around 75. [and opposite of you, we had just came from a wonderfully freezing cold room at BCV] Like a pp mentioned, I would break out in a sweat just getting around in the morning. I became temporarily disheartened with DVC because no-one was concerned or did anything about it while we were there - even though I went to the front desk every day of our 3 night stay. BUT, I did receive satisfaction from the DVC Member Satisfaction Team after I wrote them about it, so I have moved on . . . and even did an add-on at BLT after that. So much for DVC disillusionment.

To the OP, I am so sorry what you experienced. Unless you are the one actually going through it, no-one understands what the big deal is. You have my total empathy.

Thank you all for understanding.
We checked into Jambo today and the stat is working great!
It really makes a difference because it is still quite warm here.
