blt 7 months out

We are planning on going April 3-10, 2012. We own at SSR but I would like to try a 1BR lake view at BLT. This is over Easter (teacher, it's this or summer and the kids are older so summer is getting impossible). Is getting a 7 month out BLT reservation, over Easter, an impossible dream? Anyone have luck this year?

I booked March 17 and was only able to get 3 nights but that was ok since we are going to Vero too.

It's always possible, but as a general rule, holidays generally require a 11 month booking window. Book at your home and try at the 7 mo. window or waitlist. Obviously LV would be your best bet. I own at BLT and bought there to be able to book standard view for the lower points. So far I've managed to get in at the 11 month window for standard view, but did get a LV at the 7 mo. window last May (early) 1 bedroom (no holidays).

We actually got a 1br MK view for last spring break at the 7 month window!!! We have traveled the last few spring breaks and have found it pretty easy to get what we want at the 7 month window, it seems that A LOT of DVC'ers don't want to travel during the high point time periods....

We'll be arriving the Tuesday after Easter this year and we were able to book a LV 1BR for five nights at the seven month window.

I would think your chances are good.

The Resort Reservation Availability thread for April 2011 shows only 4 dates unavailable for a 1BR LV - and they're not even around Easter.

Unfortunately that thread isn't good to find out what is available, only what might not be available. And since availability changes by the minute, even that isn't very accurate. Plus you only have a very small percentage of DIS DVC members posting there and the DIS DVC members are only a small percentage of all the DVC members.

7 months out for a holiday period is going to be tough to get at a highly sought after resort.
