We are staying at BLT in July, booked in a 2 bedroom standard view. I am curious as to what a standard view can mean, and if any of the standard rooms have any type of view of Bay Lake that I can request (yes, I know it is not a lake view that we booked!)

Not sure of all the different view possibilities, but when we stayed standard last year our view was of the pool. We enjoyed the view a lot!

Standard rooms are on the first 5 floors of the resort (not all of the rooms on each floor are standard). You may have a parking lot, pool, shuffleboard, and I think a couple of them have a dumpster view. You can ask for lakeside but in all reality it is unlikely you will get a room with much of a view of the lake- if it had a good view of the lake it would be classified as lakeview. Most of the rooms are on the first 3 floors.

We have had a first floor even room that over looked the marina - that was nice.

We have also had a 3rd floor odd number room - that was mainly pool but you could see the lake behind.

We had a 2nd floor over the club room. We could see the pool through the tops of the trees. We have a standard for August and I requested an even number room. Mostly because we've stayed there twice last year and both times were odd numbers and the same view (different floors). I believe the standard are generally 1st and 2nd floor, but some areas of the building go higher -- looks like the higher floors are near the tennis court? I requested a higher floor with an even number for August.

Lower floor, without much of a lake or park view.

Not always... our standard view 1 bedroom in April of this year was on the 5th floor with a view of MK and the lake.

We had a dedicated two bedroom standard view room at BLT from May 27th through June 4th. The only request I made was not to be on the first floor.

We were in room 7217 (second floor) looking at the shuffleboard area, lots of trees and glipses of the lake. It was a very nice view. Much better than other standard views we've had at Deluxe resorts (CR garden wing, Poly standard view or Animal Kingdom standard view).

Here are some pictures. I also added these to work2play's large thread too this mornning.

BTW - we absolutely LOVED BLT!!! We can't imagine staying anywhere else again. For our family, it worked out perfect. The 3 bathrooms were great for 7 of us. We never felt cramped for space. It was very comfortable. Walking around the resort and seeing & hearing the ferry boats, watching the monorail and feeling the buzz of excitement being so close the the MK was awesome. We walked to MK when we visited MK, but took the monorail back "home". We can't wait for our next BLT stay. We are thinking Christmas 2012.

I know the types of room requests MS will accept now have been limited. I'll be booking a dedicated two-bedroom lake view shortly. Last time, we had a studio that looked out more toward the Contemporary Tower and pool than it did the lake. We were a little disappointed with it. I'm really hoping for a view from the other side of the building this time.

Is high floor odd-numbered room a valid request now? Or high floor pool view? Would that accomplish the same thing?
