Hello my friends!! I need help pls!
We will be staying in 2 bdrm dedicated at BLT in April. Four of us (2 adults, DD 15, DS 12), and we're bringing our 3 dear friends (2 adults and their 1 1/2 yr old son).
Requested a crib (as opposed to the standard "pack n play").
I'm wondering if we should give our guests the Master suite so they will have enough room for the crib, or even switch to a lock-off instead of the dedicated so there's more room in the second bedroom for the crib.
Anyone have experience with cribs at the BLT yet? Thx so much!!:thumbsup2

There was one woman on a thread in Mousecellaneous that asked about where to put a crib in a 2BR. (She was renting the crib from another company since DVC did not have any cribs.) Another woman laid down on the floor in the master bedroom and because she is 5 foot tall determined that the was 5 feet between the king bed and the window. She also thought the chair that is there and the small night stand could be moved out of the way to make more room.

I'm not sure about where you could put the other furniture though.

It was generally believed none of the other rooms would accommodate a crib. Someone even asked about using the bathroom. But it was noted that the fan was on a motion detector and would probably be triggered by the baby when turning over or mother coming in to check on the baby.

BTW, another family planned to put two pack 'n plays in the same location for their twins.

Does anyone know if the OP switches to a lockoff, if there would be room in front of the closed pullout couch for a crib?

Thanks DenLo for your response!!!!:thumbsup2

Great question!!!

Anybody????

We used the pack n play on our recent trip to BLT. The only real option we had for it in the master bedroom was right in front of the sliding door to the balcony. A full size crib may fit there but will probably block the door. There was another entrance to the balcony from the living room, so that may not be a problem. Note - this was in a 1 bedroom.

Thanks for the info!! I think that might be our best bet....give our guests the Master, and hope that the full size crib will fit btwn the bed and the slider. :thumbsup2

Full size crib is 30" x 54"; someone on thread here rented a full size crib from a baby's best friend and it fit fine in master at BLT (don't know if it was same thread previous posters mentioned - ETA it is the same thread mentioned and here is the link to it >> see Posts #7 and #11

jmho there shouldn't be difficulty fitting it in 2nd bedroom either, probably would need to do a bit of moving of 2 chairs/table in 2nd bedroom and idk for sure but I think maybe that dedicated 2 bedroom villa may actually give more room for crib than a lockoff villa because lockoff will have kitchenette area in 2nd bedroom & door to the exterior hallway but dedicated units will not. Hopefully some here who have been in both dedicated & lockoff at BLT can give you some additional info on space.

All villas come with pack-n-plays, iirc if you wanted a crib you would need to call & make that arrangement with an outside rental service.

Best wishes :goodvibes

Thanks for all the great info 5forDiz!!!!

I think I'm a bit confused. When I made the reservations I made a request for a full size crib as opposed to the standard Pack n Play. It was my understanding that they do have a limited number of regular size cribs available. I think I had better call them back and reconfirm....thanks for the heads up!!

I may be wrong - they may have some full size cribs available ( maybe from Contemporary Resort ?); but it's good idea to play it safe & reconfirm.

Sounds like a great trip, have fun :goodvibes

We will let everyone know because we have 3 infants going with us in a month. And 6 adults in a dedicated 2 br. at BLT. should prove interesting.

This was a late decision by our DD and DDIL that they wanted to go. They both had our first DGC in Jan. twins boy and girl and a girl for DD. So they both said they would wait until may 2010 before they would come with us. Well that didn't last long in April they decided that they both wanted to go.So we needed to slept 6 adults and 3 bathrms. Its only for 5 nights then they fly home and DW and i say for another 5 nights at SSR. :goodvibes I see a Grand Villa and another add on in our future.:yay:

I know that the BWV have some full size cribs available. Actually, they were smaller than what I considered a full size, but they were larger than the Pac 'n Play portables.

These were on a first come, first to get basis and may not be available when you check in. Notes could be put on the resevation, but we had to call upon arrival to the room. I suspect that the BLT operates the same.

Don't call MS. Try to get the number of BLT/CR housekeeping - they are the ones who will know for sure. Getting the number will be a challenge as calls to the resorts are routed to a centralized group and they will not know even if they tell you they do, LOL. They are trained to resist transferring calls to another department. ;)

IMO, the best way to know for sure is the first hand feedback of someone who has been there and done that. OP - hope you have time to wait for others to let you know.

I know the resorts have a very limited number of full-size cribs. There are no guarantees even if you request one. If the child needs a full size crib to sleep, I'd recommend renting from an outside company just to be safe.
