I am curious as to why people blot out their faces in pics.

What are the concerns/dangers? I’ve thought about it, after the fact, but I

am still not overly concerned. Should I be? :confused3

I have wondered the same thing. I figure if you don't want people to see your face, then why post the pictures at all... :confused3 I also find it humorous that the same folks have other people (that they don't know) in their pictures and don't blot out their faces. ;) Oh well... I guess it is one of life's mysteries...

I have seen pictures of children copied to another site to mock and make fun.

Another site I read, pictures of children were copied and used on another website to advertise.

And in an extreme case, someone copied a photo of a child that has passed away and was claiming the child was theirs and was blogging about the child.

I can understand that, but what about the adults?

I have airbrushed out a face or two, but only to protect the person to whom I posted it about. They KNEW who it was when I posted it and that I called them out. I wanted to see if others' detective skills were up to par on the matter. There were a few that figured it out....

As far as everyone else, who knows...if you don't have evil plans, why bother?:rotfl2:

so whats your point?

Because they are all ashamed that I'll ask them about the fact they didnt go fishing at Disney and don't want me to remember their faces.
I'm good at remembering faces.

:scared1: There are some mean people out there. Hopefully there was a legal recourse for those who were violated.

With that said, I'm not sure anyone could mock our children any more than we already do. :lmao: J/K

Note to self....go back to TR and apply facial disguises. :rolleyes1

For me it's just a privacy issue and I haven't or never will post an actual pic of any family member on the web or things like phone numbers, street address, etc. I have posted pics of our sons, but they were basically incognito and the top one of our oldest was in a nationally distributed magazine when his fraternity did an article on him. The lower is our youngest doing his job like his older brother and use that pic for a while as my avatar on another board.

I l o

Wow! How come every time I try and post ILO in capital letters, it changes the L and the O to lower case? Interesting........

I always wondered why my Momma was covering up my face all the time. It wouldn't bother me, except that she wasn't taking pictures, just taking me to the store with her. :confused3

It is all so clear to me now.

Thank you Larry! :goodvibes

Well while a lot may think I'm paranoid but after seeing some of the things such as the teen that commited suicide after being ridiculed on the internet and these pics of questionable attire or situations of children that have been shared on facebook where they thought they had a limited audiance, etc. my view is if you don't want anything personal distributed and used in nefarious or cruel ways don't post it anywhere in what is basically a public forum.
