Bloody Marys

If there's vodka it doesn't really matter. Check out the recipe for Red Lobster's Shrimpwreck Mary. :)

I use mix and doctor it up with lots of horseradish, worchestershire (can't say it or spell it), lime and lemon juice, olive juice, absolut pepper vodka, salt and the key ingredient celery salt!! I like mine to basically taste like I am drinking cocktail sauce :) what better way to garnish then with a skewer if veggies and shrimp!! Also don't forget to rim your glass with salt, pepper and celery salt!!

Great now I am craving one!!!!

when i was able to find horseradish juice in a bottle i made my own. that's not available up here so i go with the bottled stuff that has the juice in it-but i doctor it up some.

I pay someone to make it for me and hand it to me in my cabana.

Get some Clamato Juice...add Lime juice and Tobasco sauce, and Whooo Hooo!:thumbsup2

Mrs. T's Bold and Spicy, liberal application of celery salt. One restaurant we go to on occasion adds a spiced beef stick to their Bloody Mary's-VERY good!!

I keep meaning to look up a similar drink we had in Canada. I think they called it a Canadian Mountie or something like that. It was very good. Anyone ever heard of that?

Used to be homemade until I found an incredible mix in Put-in-Bay. It's got shrimp and crab mixed in with it and is seasoned perfectly. :goodvibes Excellent for a little hair of the dog.

The only problem is that you can only get it in Put-in-Bay and that's not exactly a hop, skip and a jump to get to. :sad1:

Personally I prefer making them from scratch because you can modify it to your particular taste, but there are some really good mixes out there and they are super easy to use and generally cater to the common crowd taste.

I forgot to add that my new favorite mix is Zing Zang (I still need to dr it up a little though)

Pretty much the same here. But add worchestershire, tabasco and pepper. Lime juice and olives, dill pickle and celery for the veggies. A complete breakfast!

doctoring is definitely a must. I've been (allegedly) known to have the best bloodys around:

put in lots of ice
vodka
pepper
garlic salt
celery salt (LOTS)
worchester sauce
pickle juice...liberally
splash of tobasco
splash of lemon juice
add vodka
add mix (any kind...bold n thick isn't neccessarily better)
remix all in shaker and repour
garnish with celery, olives, pickles, and a skewer of sausage, pepperoni and or shrimp and you are good to go...it's like drinking your dinner. :rotfl::thumbsup2

I have never thought of adding pickles or pickle juice!!! Will have to try that next time!

Have you tried Absolut Pepper vodka?

Yes and that usually puts it over the top for me, but DH main drink of choice has vodka in it, so he doesn't want the kind with pepper in it for his other drinks. Although I have considered having my vodka-for-bloody-mary-stash. :thumbsup2

Another thing I have tried is A-1, but if you do this, go light on the worchester. For me, the pickle juice and celery salt is really what makes it awesome.

We don't like bloody mary's much around here! :rolleyes1

I make mine from scratch, but I grew up the son of gin lovers, so I usually make Gin Mary's. I like pepperoni wrapped around small hot peppers as a garnish.

I admit I am addicted!! Lol I have my DH buy his vodka and I buy mine! And it is always there when I need it since as you said it doesn't go in anything else (that I can think if anyway )

Funny thing is I can't drink
tomato juice plain! But I will be adding some pickles next time! Never heard of A-1 but it makes sense.

Additional thought - has anyone had a good bloody Mary at WDW?
