Blood in my eyeball!!!!!

Woke up this morning to find small patch of blood in the eyeball (can't see it unless I look down). Had very stressful day yesterday (stuck in baltimore airport for 5 hours and didn't get home until after 1 a.m.). Seems stress can cause it and it will go away, but not sure if I should see doctor or not. Anyone ever experience this?

Yes, I've had it happen. Unless your eye is hurting, it will probably just go away in a few days. Simply looks bad in the meantime.

Um.... red eyes, but not bloody.

doesn't hurt, so if it looks like it is not getting better by monday I'll go to doctor.

Ack! Olena is scaring me now. I do want to clarify whenit happened to me, it was smallish blood spec, like a small blood vessel burst at the end, then healed over. I guess, kind of like a bruise on the eyeball, since it doesn't turn back & blue.

OP, if yours is a big bloody mess or keeps getting bigger, meaning it's still bleeding, then YES, do go right away to a doctor.

not quite sure what you mean. you said you see it when you look down. is it a blind spot? could be a blood vessel pushing through, a sign of macular degeneration. can be fixed with laser. don'y mess around. see a retinal specialist, or at least an opthamologist.

I get them now and then- first time it happened I freaked and ran to the Dr....he said its no big deal and they can't do anything to fix it, just goes away on its own, fades away in a few days.

and... just to humor me... go see the eye doctor when you get back. maybe it's just a vitreal detachment... very common. but, just in case, just get it checked out. kiss hug
