Does anyone know what 'RDW' stands for?

one part of a complete blood count is like one part of a puzzle - but here is a defintion- actually two that may help - none of my business but are the concerned about anemia?

Red blood cell indices: There are three red blood cell indices: mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC). They are measured by a machine and their values are determined from other measurements noted during a CBC. The MCV shows the size of the red blood cells. The MCH value is the amount of hemoglobin in an average red blood cell. The MCHC measures the concentration of hemoglobin in an average red blood cell. These numbers help in the diagnosis of different types of anemia.

Red cell distribution width (RDW): The RDW reports whether all the red cells are about the same width, size, and shape. This helps further classify the types of anemia.

The doctor wanted to see if she had anemia. The RDW number was high at 16.7 and the Lymph number was low at 18.3. What is the Lymph?

Lymph= Lymphocytes, part of white blood cells.

What was her hemoglobin and hemotocrit? Also an iron and ferrtin count indicate anemia.

I have a medical lab background AND I'm anemic- you can say I have experience with these results!

Hemoglobin A1C was 6.9; no hemotocrit test done.

Hemoglobin AIC is different than Hemoglobin. AIC is a determination of Glucose managment in Diabetics over a period of time. H&H is what your looking for (hemoglobin and hematocrit)
